I really thought with the talent influx this team is going to be able to go toe-to-toe with Penn State but alas it's no contest

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Granato is not the guy to turn this around.

It's weird. Some games they look really good and others they look...meh. Although they got whooped last night they had a 37 - 22 advantage with the puck. Crazy they lost 6-1.

Also, if they win tonight they will have 3 losses...all to possible tourny teams with 4 wins against possible tourny teams.

It's really hard to win against good teams with very average goal tending.
Especially the way the Badgers want to activate defensemen.

True. Didnt they have some good recruit back out a year or two ago?

Tough way to lose.
Goalie was the difference.

Yes. However, defense zone was a mess during all but 1 of NDs goals. Also, Caufield goes 0-2 on breakaways? Shocking.

Good lord what a terrible start.
Defensemen standing around and Lebedeff out of position.

I had high hopes for Granato when he took over.

That hope is gone.

2 and 5 over the last 7.

And Inamoto was terrible tonight.

I still like Granato. Bringing in talent at least. The boys are definitely in a funk. Goaltending again the difference.

Houston...... We've got a coaching problem.

How can a team with this much talent be this bad at breakaways?
They must be O for their last 20 on breakaways.

If your team struggles at breakaways, it’s a coaching problem?

Sorry. That was not my intent.

Just meant as a side note that they are really awful at breakaways.

A quarter of them have been Caufield too.

Even the games they lose they have much more puck control and time of possession. Turnovers hurting them as well as dzone/goaltending. I didnt see the goal with 1 second left, but those can be killers.

Yeah they got the win but they were outplayed pretty much the whole night and are getting badly outplayed again today by the last place team in the league

I wonder if there is even a minut chance they could get Steve Rohlick to come back to his alma mater.

It's not going to happen with granato.

Embarrassing performance this weekend.
