Great to hear Jim and Max on this call.

I was at that game as a young fella. It sucked. Way to cold.

The funny thing is that the officiating on this play was egregiously worse than anything we saw in the Packers/Lions game, but there was no massive outcry. Different times. Also probably because the game was a blowout.

And I don't think there was replay. I believe they tested it for a year or maybe in the pre-season but they didn't have it. Otherwise I'm pretty sure Reggie's foot was out of bounds.

If the Packers get to 6-1 it's going to be really hard to miss the playoffs. That KC game doesn't look all that scary anymore either. SF looks scarier.

I'm pretty sure Jordan(?) was also down first, but the video quality of that time isn't up to today's standards to tell for sure. At least, not anything they showed on the broadcast.

No, you're right, no replay at that time. This would have been mid-90s sometime, I think replay returned around '98 or '99 and has remained in some form since.

There was also the original replay era that I believe went from '86 to '91. It literally involved an official in a booth rewinding and replaying the video on a 12 inch screen. And was the replay of use for this overturn:

I know what that is without looking. Good one to use for the 2nd matchup thread.

I remember when Majik-man was the QB I expected to finally lead us to be a great team. I was devastated when he went down and Favre had to step in.

I have been subject to a lot of KC watching due to family...their run defense is BAD. Indianapolis ran them over like they were ants and I don’t know last weeks stats, but it sure felt bad. Felt like every run was a minimum 5 yards. Not to mention both those losses were at home.

49ers kinda look legit...as crazy as that is.

Jimmy G has a ridiculous record as a starter. That KC game doesn't look at daunting, but the Packers are gonna need to get some guys health(particularly Savage, maybe Greene, not sure where he is in the healing process of if he'll have been out long enough). Adams. King has to be 100 pct.

The Packers still don't look great, but they're 5-1 and Rodgers started to look more like Vintage Rodgers last week with some of those throws and that ball placement.

They cannot afford to drop a game with KC and SD coming up.

They're definitely built to play with the lead and the Colts are built to run the ball, so that was a matchup with one of the best OL's and one of the worst run D's.

The KC game is scary to me regardless because Arrowhead has always been a house of horrors for the Packers, or at least that's my perception. Obviously, the Packers don't play there very often, but it wouldn't surprise me if their record there in the Favre-Rodgers era was like 1-5.

Edit: Looked it up, 1-3 @ KC, 2-4 vs. the Cheifs overall since '92.

It was '99, which was one year too late for the Packers as the missed call on Jerry Rice's fumble knocked them out of the playoffs in Holmgren's final year with the team.

KC could very well be a loss, but it's not a team match-up wise that the Packers typically struggle with. The Packers offense isn't as good as it usually has been, but that defense is bad. That KC team actually reminds me a lot of the 2011 Packers. The 49ers are more the kind of team that usually holds Rodgers to 50% completion and 190 yards.

So the Packers should be able to score on Kansas City. SF looks to be a very difficult matchup.

SF specifically has a ridiculous pass rush. They can rush 4 and get there almost all the time. That rookie, Bosa, is an absolutely monster. I couldn't agree more that that's a scary matchup. They just held Goff and the Rams to I think 72 yards passing. That would be a subpar QUARTER for the Rams most days. I think our defense will match up mostly fine against them, I don't think we get blown out but scoring is going to be tough.

Not sure why that is crazy? Before their QB went down last year the 49ers looked to be a team on the rise.

The KC game may have gotten easier. Mahomes left the game with a right knee injury. Hopefully, not too serious as I don't like seeing any big stars get injured.

Looked like a dislocated knee that they actually popped back into place on the field...tough to say whether any significant ligament damage goes with that, but it didn't look great. He did walk off to the locker room on his own.

It really is like the entire AFC exists to make sure the Patriots make the super bowl every year.

His odds are pretty much at zero to play against the Packers. I’m not celebrating the injury by any means, but that’s a huge game that just swing massively in our way.

Walking on it is easy. It is the bending, extending, and twisting that is crippling. I hope he is only out a few weeks for the sake of football...but that may be wishful thinking.
