Who knows what happens the rest of the way, but this team is special.

That was quite the pantsing of the Clippers. The crowd was absolutely electric in the 2nd half.

This one's for CHL. Sterling Brown just may eat himself out of the league.

The Bucks are at a laughably absurd 13.6 ppg differential. I don't think that's sustainable, but it's pretty unbelievable at just a shade more than a quarter of the way through the season now.

The 95/96 Bulls (yeah....the 72 win Bulls) had a 12.3 ppg differential.

The record is 12.8, by the GS Warriors.

That was an impressive performance for the bucks. the first 2.5 quarters were extremely competitive and the defense for both teams was exceptionally active. Bucks made a few more shots and clippers turned the ball over more before the clippers basically conceded with 10 min left.

I wouldn't draw any grand conclusions about the clippers from this game, but it's still a datapoint for both teams.

It's been an incredibly fun season so far and I'm enjoying it greatly. On a side note, we may finally see a Giannis rest game next weekend when they have a b2b with Memphis and Cleveland.

Speaking of Giannis, he's only playing about 31 minutes per game.

I still wouldn't mind seeing him take a game or two off every so often.

A 24 point or greater win against Orlando monday will have the bucks do something never done before. 5 straight 24+ point victories.

Bucks lost that series because Toronto did everything in their power to shut down Giannis in the paint and their shooters didn't compensate. Bucks shot 31% from three and didn't break 100 points either of the last 2 games, and basically played pretty terrible offense as Giannis tried again and again to run into walls of defenders. Toronto shot well. Van Vleet shot great, but he averaged 9.7 ppg. That could have been overcome if the Bucks offense performed up to standards.

Thank you. He beat that to death during the series. That master prediction was not why the Bucks lost no matter how many times he keeps repeating it half a year later. They lost several games with Toronto shooting below average from 3. The Bucks stopped hitting shots. It was as simple as that. When they stopped hitting shots, all energy could be exerted on slowing down Giannis.

Toronto was getting roughly the same offensive efficiency during that series as the Bucks opponents were all year. These "wide open 3s" had absolutely nothing to do with the Bucks loss. They'd let teams shoot from there all season and the Raps were not any better at hitting them. It's maddening every time I read it, it's just not what happened.

Honestly, that could be the biggest impediment to him repeating as MVP. If you look at the per 36 numbers, he's almost scoring as proficiently as Harden. The Bucks just don't need Giannis to be on the court 37 mpg, as they're using his minutes efficiently and smartly.

Re Three Point shooting

Top Seven Teams in terms of Defensive Rating (points allowed per 100 possessions)
Bucks
Nuggets
Lakers
Celtics
Raptors
76ers
Heat

Top Five Teams in terms of % of opponents total FGA's that are 3PT attempts:
Heat
Raptors
Knicks
Celtics
Bucks

So as the Bucks (and a few other teams have shown) just allowing three point attempts is not the death knell to your defense. It's where, when, who that seems to matter.

Yeah, I feel like the whole "three pointers bad" thing is more of an aesthetical thing. The Bucks don't let teams score inside, and they're one of the best teams in the league at not putting opposing shooters on the line. It is what it is. People can like a certain style of basketball, but the numbers absolutely don't lie... the Bucks play extremely solid defense.

It's simply comes down to the fact that the Bucks are more or less ok with letting teams jack up low percentage shots because they don't think you can beat them doing it. Any time they actually lose, it's the first thing people are going to point to because it's what they see.

Meh, this complaint comes from people who don't watch much NBA. They don't realize there's a lot of open 3s in every single game. Don't bother with facts, this stuff started mid season last year and hasn't stopped.

Much like the Grandal is a bad defensive catcher take, just because you focus on afew dropped pitches. 90% of people here will never use the words " you know what, I didn't know that, maybe you're right." Best to move on. Much like the Mark A is cheap because he's a billionaire schtick.

If the Bucks defense played out more and contested 3s more than they currently do, people would only be complaining that their interior defense is weak from letting people get inside to score. A team like Utah can do it, but Lopez ain't Rudy Gobert. The League is getting faster instead of bigger, even Centers are shooting 3s now, and the 3-point line is a huge area to cover. There's no way one could expect the Bucks to play better defense than they are now. Of course if an opponent gets hot from 3 the Bucks could lose, but that's historically true.

Just another ho hum win for the Bucks. 15 in a row. Just incredible. There obviously wasn't the same tenacity tonight, but pretty easily handled the Magic who will probably make the playoffs as the 8th seed.

Being out of state I don't get to see many games, bur I thought the defense and sharing the ball last night was looking very good. It looks like they are coming together well!

Exactly. The talent in the NBA has gotten so good and the rules tweaked so much in the offenses favor that you simply have to pick your poison as best as possible. That's exactly what the Bucks do. Basically they only lose if the other team has a huge outlier game from 3 where they get ridiculous hot. Their logic on D is that won't happen 4 times in a 7 game series. And they were right, Tor didn't do that. They lost because their O got shut down. And even with the O getting shut down if FVV doesn't slop in about 5 more 3s than he should've they would've won it all.

Maybe we jinxed it. No Giannis tonight - we'll see how the team looks without him. The Pelicans aren't very good so hopefully they can get the win regardless.

Not quite haha. That game was ridiculous, at one point up 56-28. Ersan being Ersan. Oh btw, how about that George Hill. What a trade and key it was that they kept him. As long as he's healthy he's the playoff insurance on Bledsoe's faults.
