He was screwing around and joking after the game...

Maybe they figured rather than screw around like they did with Tonyan last year, never get back to 100 pct, but come back in 4-5 weeks, they just try to get it fully healed so he's back for the last ~5 games.

That is a brutal loss though. He's such a good blocker it's like having a TE in there(who can burn Lattimore and Jenkins as he did on that stumbling catch last week).

In theory, EQ is a similar type of receiver ... a big body, strong guy who can block. He was lauded for his blocking when he played as a rookie. Hopefully he can come back after the bye and provide something.

Yeah, EQ has a ton of upside and he's been here for going on 3 years now and just turned 24 years old two days ago.

I think LaFleur deserves the benefit of the doubt at this point. I just saw a list of WR'ers the Packers should sign. Dez Bryant was on the list, Taylor Gabriel, Jordan Matthews, Cody Lattimer...and.....Antonio Brown!
As much as I'd love to see Antonio Brown, he seems best left to a Madden team(as long as Seattle doesn't end up with him).

Two more realistic targets though...Corey Davis from Tenn. A big WR'er, a former 1st who MLF coached.
And Steve McClendon from the Jets.

Davis might not come cheap as he's been productive, but he's been rumored to be available.
McClendon should be a conditional 6th, but he's a very steady, solid interior DL.

The guy who I'd really like to see is Quinnin Williams, another guy who's been rumored to be available, though I imagine the Jets would be looking for at least a 2nd+ after taking him 3rd just two years ago. But he would be the ideal DE next to Clark and hopefully Keke.

Lazard will be a bigger loss than Adams. .

Dude...

I'm assuming that is referring to the cumulative effect of missing a lot more games, perhaps the rest of the season, whereas Adams will certainly be back after the bye.

No, I’m referring to his overall game. He gets in the muck and makes some big time blocking plays that go unnoticed a lot of the time. It’s a huge piece to this new offensive scheme. In no way am I saying he’s a better pass catcher than Adams but I really think this offense will miss what Lazard does on Sunday’s and will have to adjust quite a bit moving forward.

The Packers have been churning out OL for 30 years. It's remarkable how easy they have made it look for the most part.

I remember Rodgers' early days quite differently. Seems like he spent a great deal of time running for his life the first few years. I still recall the Allen Barbre disaster of 2009. While I'm just going off memory, it didn't feel like it was until about 5-7 years ago that the offensive line play here started to stabilize. At least for this era.

They won the Super Bowl in Rodgers 3rd year as a starter and scored 600 points 10 years ago...Of course there are years where things go up and down, they did release Rivera and Whale and replace them with 2 bums, they were pretending Marshall Newhouse could play LT for a while but for the most part the Packers have had league average or good OL without using many high picks or signing them in FA.

Rodgers getting sacked has been as much his fault as anything else since his first snap. He is very good running around and throwing on the move, you take the bad with the very good.

Lang, Sitton, Bakhtiari, Clifton, Tauscher, Wells, Linsley, I am probably forgetting some, have all reached a Pro Bowl. The highest pick among them I believe is Clifton. Several were 7 rounders and most were mid round guys. Some of that is the nature of OL but the Packers have done a better job replenishing the OL than any position on the roster.

And also seem to know exactly when to NOT re-sign them.

Adams and Deguara both back in pads today.

Where is the official report Lazard is actually out for the year? I just see "indefinitely" and "at least a month." It seems, at least right now, that he could be back down the road.

There isn't one. I was being cynical. He's out for a while though.

You're not the only one saying it though. There are few places that was suggested, but the more recent updates seem to have changed to more of a 4-6 weeks thing.

I've seen early to mid November, which would work just fine. The bye weeks comes at precisely the right time in this case. If Adams doesn't play Monday night, though, it's going to be a bunch of no-names at WR. MVS might get peppered with passes.

I never saw one that said the year, just indefinitely and then 8 weeks.

This has to be a sports hernia, right? It's hard to imagine another core injury that you'd have surgery on and be back in 2 months.

Did anybody else see that Catanzaro was brought in for a workout yesterday? I have to imagine it's not for PK duties and rather perhaps as a kickoff specialist?

Converting him to a WR.

Seriously though, highly doubtful they'd carry 2 kickers just to have one for kickoffs.

Possible Crosby is nicked up, more likely just due diligence/updating emergency lists.

They've been bringing in guys at every position all year...even FB's. It's just smart. If Covid spreads, it'd be nice to be able to go out and get a kicker who was cut despite hitting 84 pct of his FG's, is a free agent.

Plus, he has been a punter in the past. And despite Crosby's TB pct...which is at a career high, he does look as though he's lost a little bit of leg strength. Not surprising at age 36, but it could be an ancillary benefit if the Packers do need him for a game or two.

I’m not reading much into it ... due diligence in case COVID strikes the team. They’re probably maintaining a short list at every position. It’s just odd to see kickers come through the Hudson Center, given how reliable Crosby has been.

Can someone remind me of the IR rules now since they've changed so much in the past several years? If I recall correctly the rule starting this year is that it basically works like an MLB IL, with a 3-week minimum but unlimited players can return?

If I'm understanding it correctly, ESB/Lazard/Kirksey can ALL come back at some point this year.

I believe you’re correct, but these rules are for 2020 only.
