Fastball at 91, which is surprising given his K numbers.

I'm guessing we're sending Cooper back. Yankees need a 1B.

he was a rule 5 pick this winter by the Pirates, who returned him to the Yankees in March

"He allowed four runs in 13 innings this spring while striking out eleven and walking one. The Pirates went with former Yankee Wade LeBlanc for their final bullpen spot over Webb. He would have had to remain on their 25-man big league roster all season."

Cooper makes sense here. I hope that's the case. I have a feeling it might be a better prospect though...

Ty Webb! From Caddyshack!

I was thinking that as well. [laughing]

There is also a pitcher for Illinois that graduated last year from Menomonee Falls who's name is Ty Webber.

I take it he's a LOOGY? I'll be a little upset if we send Cooper. I wanted to #freecooper for awhile. Not sure Thames is long term answer.

Could it be Aguilar?

Love this move. Why pay the premium for a "proven" reliever when you can maybe get the same (or possibly much more) value from an under the radar guy that just hasn't gotten a legit chance yet.

Looking at his minor league numbers he seems like he could be very similar to Grant Dayton for the Dodgers last year in that he's a guy that has had success all through the minor but doesn't have the "stuff" to be considered a true prospect. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he is a high spin rate guy & that was part of the reasoning for targeting him.

Maybe but I guess the idea of sending one older AAA guy with good results for another makes more sense to me. It's a chance for both sides to essentially buy low and hope for the best. If it works out for either team, they have a good controllable piece for years.

Aguilar is already a little more proven this year than Webb, and I feel like the Brewers would value him a little higher than this.

Webb is controllable until the next Haley's Comet.

Re: Aguilar - I'd be surprised if they trade someone off the 25 man. Just a hunch.

Webb was one of the hyped Rule 5 guys in December according to Baseball America, was hoping the Brewers would take him, but he'd have to be on the 25 man all year. Good pickup.

Fine deal in my opinion.

I hate the Cubs. I hope they die.

I mean, he's hitting .366 and blocked by Shaw, Thames and Aguilar, best of luck to him in NY
