As long as we don’t have Jesse Levis DH for us again, I’m happy

Stearns has been using his time machine again I see. And people were saying he signed too many OF. [smile]

CF Cain
2B Hiura
LF Yelich
1B Smoak
DH Braun
RF Garcia
C Narvaez
3B Gyorko
SS Urias

That's looking pretty good indeed.

I like it. Especially when you then consider the extended rosters and the matchups you can play with at the bottom of the lineup (3B - Gyorko/Holt/Sogard, SS - Urias/Sogard/Holt/Arcia). Let's go!

Really? With soon to be 32 year old Jedd Gyroko (.174/.248/.250 in 2019) as the starting 3B?

You're right, will probably have to settle for 69-1.

I'm not betting against 70-0. They have already made it to June 18th without a loss and I'd bet that continues on into July.

I really like pitchers hitting, I think it adds to game strategy especially late in games, managers contemplating over that decision to ph with a runner on or to let the pitcher hit because he’s of great value in upcoming inning/s. It’s a perfect example of why Joe Maddon is back in the AL. He was terrible at late innings pitcher management

With starting pitchers going fewer & fewer innings to avoid the 3rd time through the order, these situations are becoming increasingly rare already.

Last year NL pinch hitters batted 224/310/397 (84 wRC+), essentially the same as Manny Pina 228/313/411 (87 wRC+).

Sure, that's worlds better than almost every pitcher, but still a a pretty easy out in most instances.
