Sabathia is back to NY on a one year deal. The 38-year old Sabathia says this will be his final season.

Good deal for CC. Gets to take one last shot at a ring with what will likely be another stacked Yankees squad needing 4 Wins/14 Strikeouts to hit 250/3,000 in what should be a Hall of Fame career.

Just for fun here are the top 5 pitchers in MLB per FanGraphs since CC debuted in 2001...

3470 IP | 7.74 K9 | 2.75 BB9 | .92 HR9 | 3.70 ERA | 3.72 FIP | 67.8 WAR
2518 IP | 7.07 K9 | 1.68 BB9 | .72 HR9 | 3.17 ERA | 3.19 FIP | 64.6 WAR
2759 IP | 8.83 K9 | 2.64 BB9 | .89 HR9 | 3.39 ERA | 3.42 FIP | 63.6 WAR
2096 IP | 9.77 K9 | 2.30 BB9 | .62 HR9 | 2.39 ERA | 2.64 FIP | 61.6 WAR
2663 IP | 8.23 K9 | 2.15 BB9 | .92 HR9 | 3.39 ERA | 3.39 FIP | 56.7 WAR

Yeah, top to bottom is CC, Halladay, Verlander, Kershaw & Greinke.

King Felix is 7th at 2658 IP | 8.35 K9 | 2.64 BB9 | .84 HR9 | 3.34 ERA | 3.46 FIP | 51.8 WAR

I thought when CC went to the Yankees he would have a shot at 300 wins, but now that he wont get there it looks no one may ever do it again.

Nonsense, Bartolo will get there.

Kershaw is half way there at age 30, he'll break 300 wins.

It took him 10 years (mostly insane/best of his time years) and he got...half way there. That is a good reason why he has little to no chance at 300. You have to be well over halfway there before your career is at the halfway point. Add in injuries and I don't know why you would think, confidently, he can get there.

I just don't see Kershaw pitching until he is 40 and the back issues he had had make me doubt he can even hit 250 like Sabathia.
