The Yankees plan to use LeMahieu as a versatile player around the infield. They will use him at second base, first base and third base.

D.J. LeMahieu is in agreement with the New York Yankees on a two-year deal, league sources tell ESPN.

I think this all but seals it that MM will not be a Yankee. Torres, Andujar, DJ, Did, Tulo all for 3 spots. You could make room, but adding DJ and MM considering in house options wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Good deal for the Yankees. I expect he'll put up his usual excellent defense, and put up a slightly above average wRC+.

Totally agree. But they do have the option now of signing Manny and then trading Torres, Adujar, or Didi for some pitching or prospects.

The Yankees sure love RH hitters in a stadium built for LH hitters.

It is a good signing though. I wanted LeMahieu for the Brewers, but figured it was a longshot.

Glad the Brewers didn't blow their load on Lowrie or LeMahieu.

If the Yankees want to spend $12M/year on a guy who has a career sub-.700 OPS away from Coors Field, especially at 1B or 3B, have at it.

I'm not sure why New York teams keep signing 2B's they don't need.

I figured it out. Cashman asked for Hiura in exchange for Sonny Gray, and Stearns told them he was off limits and that he was planning on signing a stop-gab 2B to bridge the gap in between outbursts of laughter. Cashman hung up the phone and said, "I'll show him... I'll show them all!" and proceeded to sign ALL the free agent 2B out of pure spite.

LOL, that reads like a post straight out of the Brewers Twittersphere.

Replace Cashman with George Steinbrenner and I think you have almost word-for-word part of a Seinfeld episode when Costanza worked for the Yankees...

Stearns probably had no interest in getting a C because the Brewers need a C. It makes much more sense to trade for 3B when it's not needed, and then move the other 3B to 2B, then trade for a 2B, but since the 3B is now at 2B, then the new 2B goes to SS
