87 Wins. I'm guessing a dip in bullpen from last year combined with the NL being so tough as the reason for a dip in wins.
No Playoffs, 3rd in Central
ASG: Yelich, Grandal, Hader
Offensive player: Yelich
Starter of the year: Burnes
Reliever: Hader
Surprising player: Braun
Disappointing: Jesus Aguilar or Knebel/Jeffress but I'm going to cut them slack due to injury it's not their fault so to speak. Could include Davies/Anderson too but frankly I don't expect much so I won't be disappointed.

My 2019 Brewers Predictions:

Win-Loss Record: 97-65

Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes, Central Champs

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: World Series

All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Shaw, Grandal, Hader, Woodruff

Offensive Player of the Year: Shaw

Starting Pitcher of the Year: Woodruff (18-10, 2.86 ERA)

Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader

Most Surprising Player: Braun. I think he starts a little slow, then heats up after the AS break to the tune of an overall .300 AVG, 32 HRs, 100 RBIs. I also think Taylor Williams is going to break out as a high-end leverage-innings reliever this year.

Most Disappointing Player: Aguilar. I think he still puts up solid numbers, but ends up leveling off at somewhere between his 2018 first half and second half stats.

Me too! I had a tough time coming up with an offensive player who wouldn't shine. This offense has the chance to be very, very good.

2019 Brewers Predictions

Win-Loss Record: 88-74

Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes

Highest Playoff Level Achieved: Wild Card

All-Star Game Representative(s): Christian Yelich, Josh Hader, Lorenzo Cain, Yasmani Grandal

Offensive Player of the Year: Christian Yelich

Starting Pitcher of the Year: Jhoulys Chacin

Relief Pitcher of the Year: Josh Hader

Most Surprising Player: Zach Davies

Most Disappointing Player: Orlando Arcia

Division has gotten better, win totals will be lower for all the teams competing for the title. I also think it's a fairly wide range of outcomes for the Brewers, high 80s seems most reasonable but it could be more or less without any real surprise. Mad Max Scherzer then comes into Miller Park as the Road Warrior and ends our hopes and dreams. As for the all-star game it's both about performance, reputation, which team you play for as well as competition. Which is why I don't see Shaw there. He's good enough, and I think he'll have a great season, but he shares his position in the NL with Arenado, Machado, Bryant, Rendon, Carpenter and Turner, it's super stacked. Don't see any of the starters going no matter how good they are.

Yelich and Chacin for P/S of the year doesn't really need any explanation. Zach Davies is still young. This year he manages to consistently put together the ability he's shown in parts of his MLB career to date. Not an all-star, but a very solid 3.70 ERA over 180 IP. Arcia... I just don't know about him anymore. He makes the most amazing plays on defense, only to go on to make silly mistakes. But the defense isn't what worries me, it's excellent overall. He just doesn't seem to have any kind of method or process to his approach at the plate. He'll look a different player from one plate appearance to the next. He'll fall behind in almost every count, make the ugliest of swings at the ugliest of pitches. And yet it looks so sweet when he does make contact and hit the ball hard. I think we'll see plenty of Dubon and Saladino this year at short. I really hope to be wrong though.

Just for discussion purposes, do you see Aguilar being replaced by an in house option like Thames, Shaw, or Moose? Or do you see them targeting outside help at the deadline?

I'll throw the bucket of cold water on the hopes and dreams. I do think the Brewers can be good and compete for the playoffs, but there is also a strong chance that their rotation with three rookie arms doesn't hold up. Even if Knebel avoids TJ surgery and gets PRP injection it still means he likely misses most if not the entire season. A thin rotation and shaky late inning relief sounds a lot like the 2012 Brewers.

Record: 101-61
Playoffs: NL Central Champs
Highest Level of Playoffs: World Series Champs, 4-2 over Boston
All-Stars: Burnes, Hader, Kimbrel, Yelich, Shaw, Aguilar, Grandal, Moustakas
Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich - another near-triple crown
Starting Pitcher of the Year: Corbin Burnes - Becomes a home-grown TOR pitcher
Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader/Kimbrel (tie)
Most Surprising Position Player: Ryan Braun - Hits like the Braun of 2011-2012/Mike Moustakas - Arcia slump leads to first appearances at shortstop since Full-Season A Ball as he has a 2017-esque season with the bat and Hiura forces his way to the majors
Most Surprising Starting Pitcher: Brandon Woodruff - Burnes will get the All-Star Game appearance and the recognition, but Woodruff will be just as good.
Most Surprising Relief Pitcher: Craig Kimbrel - Signs a one-year deal with mutual option for 2020/Rick Wilson - emerges as solid asset/Jimmy Nelson - Goes to pen as young guns dominate 2019 rotation (tie)
Most Disappointing Position Player: Orlando Arcia - Hits .235/.285/.330 - Barely enough to keep his job, but will lose PT and be relegated to a defensive replacement for Moustakas.
Most Disappointing Starting Pitcher: Chacin - Slight regression from 2018, but young guns will pick up the slack
Most Disappointing Relief Pitcher: Knebel/Jeffress - Injuries will have them miss first-half playing time.

Bold Preditions: As hinted in other topics:
1. Brewers reach deal to add Kimbrel to bullpen by end of opening series.
2. Moustakas will play some shortstop as Arcia struggles at the plate (not 2018 bad, but...).
3. Jimmy Nelson does a John Smoltz and becomes a dominant force in the pen as he recovers from missed PT in 2017-2018.

Of all the ones I’ve read, this is my favorite! With Kimbrel, record should be accurate.
