162-0 doesn't really win anything. 173-0 is the key number.

Arcia will hit like he has this spring= More points! More Points!
Williams found the formula to get LH out- Late inning issue WHOA SOLVVD
Peralta dominates
Houser under the radar big impact
Yelich wins back-to-back MVPs
Blow two years of my entertainment funds for two great seats to watch the Crew win the WS in Game 6.

LETS GO BREWERS

The 2-7 hitters all end the season with 30+ dingers each!

Taylor Williams and Jacob Barnes get an opportunity early on and breakout. Adding more bullpen studs.

Peralta, Woodruff and Burnes all earn their right to stay in the rotation all year. Brewers are burdened with finding ways to keep their innings reasonable for this year.

I know this is the optimism thread and I surely am optimistic about the Brewers this year. I do think they had a good off season, but better than last year?? They got Cain and Yelich last year in the off season. Hard to top that!

Ha..sorry, I completely misread that. I somehow read it as "offseason" not "offense".

Yelich> .400 .600 40 130

Sets mlb record with 200 runs scored.
Just misses triple crown
Wins second straight mvp
First .400 hitter since Williams

Man oh man that opening day catch by Lo Cain will be a legend in Brew Crew lore. Beyond exciting.

I think it was the guest on the Brewers preview segment on Effectively Wild that said the thought in the Brewers org was that they thought Yelich would actually be better this year than last year because he's coming into his body, put on a bit of good weight this offseason, and just seems to have hit his prime.

After watching him in ST and on opening day, I gotta say I'm buying into this hype. Yeli looks like he could have a full season like his monster second half last year.

Would love to go back and congratulate all the people on this forum who talked about how Yelich had the potential to essentially be peak Ryan Braun and how happy everyone was to get him. I was happy to pick up a solid, controllable player, but have to say I was not expecting him to be this good (although it is a bit presumptuous to acquire any player and predict MVP).

Hader also looks like an unbeatable monster (as long as you have Lo Cain roaming the outfield, I guess). I think the occasional homer just comes with Hader's profile, but I'm not sure I've seen that many swings and misses in a 2 inning stretch in my life.

What a fun game. Best part about baseball as that we get to do it again tonight!

Just looked it up. Hader threw 15 strikes yesterday in 21 pitches, 11 were swinging strikes, and 2 of the other 4 were fly ball outs. Only one called strike looking and one foul ball. That's incredible.

I would love to know how many tickets were sold after yesterday's game. Probably the most hyped opening day in a generation after a stellar season and they won in the most 2018 Brewer ways. If you weren't hyped before I can't imagine how you aren't now.

Yelich is in pace for a new MLB record of 486 RBI this season! I don’t expect him to maintain that pace all season, but 400 is definitely within reach! Keep it goin’ Christian!

I know this is supposed to be the optimism thread and I am amped for this season but I'd feel a little better if JJ and Kneble weren't on the DL. I hope they aren't out too long.

How is this thread not popping out five posts an hour? Christian Yelich is the man! The Brewers continue to find ways to win series.

I might have to add a dozen or two dingers!
