He just completed his 2nd big league no-hitter. Always liked him as a Brewer, and loved his story of being drafted at a late age and advancing quickly. Forgot how much I loved his arsenal until watching the last few innings tonight. What a curve!

The A’s now have I believe 4 no-hitters since the Brewers’ one and only back in 1987!

Good for Fiers, always enjoyed him as a Brewer.

Yes indeed, congratulations Mr. Fiers! One must be so nice, two must be cloud nine.

Fiers: 2 no hitters. Hader: 0 no hitters. Advantage Astros.

I remember when he threw his first one like a week after we traded him and thought "We're never gonna throw another no hitter again."

"You're not going to have him when you want him and you're going to run out of games. He can't pitch 90 games. It's just not going to work. If anyone thinks it's going to work, show me how."- Craig Counsell on Josh Hader.

As I recall, Fiers and Gomez brought back Brinson, Cordell, Houser, and Hader.

Brinson then was THE key part of the package for Yelich. Cordell brought a reliever - Swarczak (I probably misspelled the name).

Yelich/Hader/Houser is worth Fiers and Gomez... but when Fiers was avaiolable as a free agent he was someone I'd have brought in.

Brinson and Cordell came from the Lucroy Jeffress trade to the Rangers.

Enjoyed him as a Brewer. ERA was up over 6 before the game. Always has had that inconsistency, but when he's on he's that good.

Fiers and Gomez brought back Santana, Phillips, Houser and Hader. As we know now, Santana brought back Gamel and Zavolas. Phillips was part of the package for Moustakas. So Gamel, Zavolas (doing well in Carolina), a half season of Moose (who probably wouldn't be here this year without that trade), and Houser showing the talent to be a big league pitcher. The Brewers did really well in that deal, even if you take Hader out.

Man, got the big trades confused...

One was with the Rangers, the other with the Astros...

I'm pretty sure we haven't even had a complete game shutout in the time that Fiers has thrown 2 no hitters.

Kind of like Peralta. Fiers has carved out a nice career as a 4th-5th starter and has a ring. He's been pretty durable too and a good guy who's easy to root for.

2017 Jimmy Nelson is the only complete game we have had in that timeframe. He gave up one (unearned) run thanks to Keon Broxton.

The last CGSOs were Kyle Lohse (2) and Matt Garza (1) in 2014.

I love guys like Mike Fiers. He's the anti Hall of famer---has tremendous and memorable small moments in his career, but overall is just a guy. It's so easy to cheer on guys like this. Scooter gennet's four homer game was a similar deal. It's also cool that both of these guys were drafted deep in the 2009 draft, which on the surface looked like a poor draft. Add in Khris davis, and 2009 was actually a great draft, once you ignore than no one picked in the first 6 rounds even came close to panning out.

And despite being drafted at a late age and not playing a full season in the majors until age 30, he was in the majors two years after being drafted and will make at least $25M in his career.

Tip of the cap to you, Mr. Fiers.

Throw in his Nova Southeastern teammates JD Martinez & Miles Mikolas & you've got almost a quarter billion dollars in career earnings/future guarantees.

Not bad for a school with a 117 million endowment.

Decent. Guys like him and Davies are always so easy to root for.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

Big congratulations to Mike Fiers. He was always a steady guy in the rotation that you could count on to keep you in the game. Glad to see him continuing to be successful with other organizations.

He went from a massive car accident and being lucky to be alive, and going through major rehab as a result to a Major League pitcher in just 4 years. It's really an incredible journey.
