How about a new analyst next year? Last original comment came about five years ago. Only gets enthused when talking about the fantasy camp. I liked Plesac’s games.

Plesac just babbles on and on and on. He doesn't know when to shut up.. Rock gives good insight to the small parts of the game that may be missed by the casual fan who hasn't played the game. MA loves Schroeder.

You don’t like Brian Anderson ?

He’s probably one of the best play by play man in the country

Bill and Brian are both above average TV guys, and I hope each is with us for a while yet.. I am convinced they are better than half when I listen to other telecasts, local or national. That being said, Brian has one eye on the clock. He is looking for the game to be over, and it is more evident as years go by.

I like Schroeder way more than Plesac. I actually had the urge to mute the TV when Plesac was on.

Interesting take rickh150. Could you elaborate on what you mean referring Brian Anderson. I’m not trying to be snide. Genuinely wondering what you mean when you say he has an eye on the clock. How so? Can you elaborate?

I''m not too keen on Rock either, but I don't think I'd like to hear Plesac for more than a few games per year.

I'll take a stab at what rickh150 is saying. Brian is looking for the next job. He misses A LOT of Brewers games to do other things like March Madness, the NBA Playoffs, and I believe some golf? He's just there to do the Brewers, waiting on a more stable bigger stage to come up, rather than have his fall back being the Brewers games, because they let him leave whenever he wants to do other things. This has become more and more each year. I personally don't like listening to him, I think he comes across as very uppidy, and luckily I live out of market, so I can choose to listen to the other broadcast when watching mlb.tv

I love these threads. Half of this place loves Bill and BA and the other half isn't too enthused about them. I have made my feelings about Anderson pretty clear in the past. Bland, boring, vanilla, uninteresting, safe. He's not annoying is about the only positive I can say about him and many say that's why he's so good. Meh, whatever. Rock is what he is. Knows about the mechanics of how to play baseball but couldn't explain the difference between OPS and the word oops. Pretty much your standard old guy baseball man. Loves to point out how every batter just needs to think the other way and all those called strike 3 pitches are just too close to take. The thing I really like about him though is he gets very upset at bad umpiring and when the Cardinals pull their typical crap.

Just seems like he is talking about the following more: getting the game over with and on to the next city, so many counts going to 3 balls and lengthy at bats, mentioning time of game when in extra innings often.... maybe others have a specific as well. Any of these is fine by itself, but There is overkill from Anderson on these topics. Of all the people in the ballpark, I want him to Love being at the ballpark the most..... not itching to get out of there.

At this point Rock is an institution, he's been doing this job for 25 years now. Pretty much anyone 30 and under only know Brewer baseball with Rock calling the games on TV. I think this job is his until he decides to stop.

I like Rock, and am so so on BA. If BA left, I'd be fine, wouldn't pay a lot of attention, because as some have noted, he is gone a lot, and we seem to be his back up plan to anything else he can get his hands on.

I like LePay filling in for BA but got tired of his "break even pitch" comments.

He will for the next two days to go do national games yet again. I like LePay best, but I think we get Coshun this time.

His constant jerking off every time someone on the Brewers gets a hit to the opposite field gets on my nerves for some reason, same with anytime someone doesn't swing at a ball with two strikes.

Having listened to color guys on other teams though, that overall Rock type of still stuck in the 80's mentality towards the current game is pretty common.

I like them both, although I did warm to LePay quite a bit. Plesac, when he's on MLB Network, is tolerable, and a rare Brewer cheerleader. As a color man, recently, he was just awful. Rambling, trying WAY too hard, and a complete distraction, in my opinion.

Having heard most of the other commentary combos around the league, we are fortunate, I think. Many of the other pairs are frankly unlistenable. BA's time with us is coming to an end, based on his side hustles, and it's at least a coin toss that the new guy will be just as polarizing.

Rock is fine. He's personable and a homer. He has some good insight, but gets overlooked for not knowing modern stats. BA is among the top play-by-play broadcasters in the game. Plesac was a true joy. He's so fun and entertaining...sounds like he bleeds blue and gold.

On the radio side, when Ueck isn't doing a game, I feel like the other two sound EXACTLY the same. I generally can't tell the difference.

Yes! I’ve said this so many times haha I cannot tell Grindle or Levering apart, they sound ridiculously similar.
