Had 8 tickets to the May 10th game. Lone game I bought this year. Called first week in May as the game wasn’t going to happen. Was told they were finalizing the March/April returns and put my request in for refund.

Received an email today saying it was being refunded to my account. Pretty smooth and quick turn around. Basically just help my money for 5 months [smile]

The power of a phone call!

Missing the whole point.... One, just write down what the policy is and be honest and consistent. Actually put it on the website where fans can find it.... that would be a good start. If refunds are an option, just say it. It's like a sleazy furniture store that has policy on oversized posters around the store that claim the price is what it is... no negotiations; but the real dealing is done out back. Two, fans shouldn't have to call and fill out forms for refunds. The game wasn't played and it wasn't rescheduled. Just put the money back on the credit card like many other teams in baseball. It happened the same way with the WIAA girls tournament.... just got $ back on the card. And three.., if all was good with the original policy, why did they switch policy (supposedly) a day later? And now that policy is no where to be found by maneuvering around the team website. Because of this backwards strategy, the team will make thousands from fans that either forget about their 2020 tickets or fail to use their tickets for 2021 tickets.

I'm glad that you could handle that phone call and that you got your $ back. My personal opinion is that it's plain wrong how they are going about something that the average person would see as a simple transaction.

Also, the back of each ticket begins with "No Refunds"...If refund is an option, shouldn't that NOW be in print in a fairly obvious place?

100% agree. The team as a whole is botching this. A buddy of mine had the same situation as mine, asked for a refund and got auto replies and sent to website. Not very consistent.

I’ll gladly pay some money to see a game soon though!

I keep saying it mentioned that someone would forget about their tickets. If they forget they bought tickets, to bad, so sad. Make a phone call and get a refund if you want. This is the only place I’ve even seen people complain on this issue.

It's really strange. The number of times I've had to get on the phone to solve something about getting money back with Costco, Amex, Chase, Kohl's, Walmart, Home Depot, etc...I can't believe one-to-one contact is considered some kind of absurd interaction.

I don't know how something can be botched when you literally have to make one phone call and get your money.

You guys are really struggling to grasp the fact it isn’t about making a phone call. It’s the fact the Brewers aren’t clear about their policy and not only that their policy is junk compared to what the ‘norm’ is across MLB for this. I don’t really care, but I’m not surprised people are irked by it. That certainly isn’t a feeling reserved to a few forum members either. People have been upset on every single social media over it.

This is just not true. Last time I checked, several teams, including both in New York and the Dodgers, had the same policy as the Brewers - refunding through April and no later.

It's not that I don't think their policy is a bit annoying, it's that given the fluidity of the situation I understand the teams' desire to want to wait until they have all the information before rolling out a concrete plan. They want to know what the future holds somewhat, to be able to entice people to rollover money that is a boost to their operating expenses.

And yes, on some level, this is exactly about making a phone call. This is not a normal PPD/cancel situation by any stretch. To expect to put in a little bit of work on your end to get a refund, I personally find that very reasonable. It's been in the news that they offer refunds. It would require 1/10 as much energy to solve a problem personally than it takes to spend weeks complaining about how unjust it is.

Curious how many teams you took the time to research/verify this statement for?

I just looked at the Cubs' website, and I wasn't able to locate any sort of 'policy' under their ticket section that mentioned anything about refunds. Doesn't mean it's not there, just that it also wasn't 'easy to locate' like the Brewers are being criticized for here....

Here's info from the Cubs.

https://www.mlb.com/cubs/tickets/single-game-tickets You can get to it by clicking "tickets" on the front page of the website....
https://www.mlb.com/cubs/news/cubs-ticket-options-through-may
Also, you can get to it by clicking "news" on the front page of the website.

The Cubs provided info to all fans for refund or carry over. If you are a lover of the phone call, you are encouraged to call for more info with a number provided AND they give you a special email address to contact. If you tried to email the Brewers for a refund, they wouldn't even reply (and THAT of all things is in print!). From the Brewers site.."Any email received requesting a refund to your original payment for the game dates specified above will not be answered."

https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/ct-chicago-cubs-white-sox-ticket-refunds-20200429-knkxfuwtibeevisqoju5exg3ga-story.html
Any season ticket holder was contacted with a special email with directions and given options for a refund or to have the money carried over to 2020 or 2021 with a 5% bonus. Single seat ticket holders received refunds automatically by method of payment. Don't even call them! The money is back to you immediately.

Finally, did everyone read the ThisIsMyCrew comment a page ago.... it can't be assumed that all Brewers ticket representatives are giving the same options and info to Brewers fans. Just call and ask for a refund and all is good? Really? A refund was not given to this man's friend. My ticket rep. also mentioned how many others have had the same complaints about difficult ticket policy. And me for instance, I have group tickets for the end of May, and I was told that I have to wait until May's policy is officially given before I can get a refund.

It's a little bit like the secret menu at a restaurant. You have to know the right people to talk to get what you want, the real info is not out in the open, and it's all a bit of a mystery. There is no mystery in why it is being done, however.

The Brewers have been so good to their fans over the years, and that goodness has rewarded them greatly with large crowds, great business, and really good mojo over the last 15 years..... really since Mark A. took over. I'm just surprised.

.....and after having to scroll down through 17 other stories first.....

Seriously guys, has anyone FIRST HAND tried to get a refund from the Brewers and been unable to do so? Anyone?

As previously noted, this is only an issue here. I don't know why some are making this a crusade on behalf of the fan base when it's not really an issue for nearly all of the fan base.

Me.... I have to wait until May's policy becomes official for getting a refund for a group game. Then again, depending on whatever the policy is or who I talk to, I might roll the money over into next year and get an extra 10%.

No, you haven't been denied anything that someone else has received. It's more than fair to question why the May tickets aren't being dealt with, but you're not being treated any differently than anyone else at this point.

Pretty sure it has been previously stated in this thread, probably not even 2-3 pages back that people were calling and getting May refunds.

On group tickets? But, fair enough if so.

How does that policy compare to the other teams' policies?

Group tickets and premier rentals-
Fans who fall in this situation who had tickets for March, April and May will have their dedicated Cubs sales representative contacting them soon to discuss the option for a credit plus a 5 percent bonus, a refund or an exchange of tickets.

On the advice of my SSH rep who appears to be furloughed, I requested refunds for my individual non-package tickets + promo vouchers through the end of May.

I don't know if others have gotten this but I got a sort of weird email yesterday that said I would be entitled to using credits in 2020 or 2021, as well as a "special opportunity" to redeem the credits.

Prior to this, my rep told me there would be no special offer for single-game/voucher tickets. I wonder if that is changing?

So no refund for individual tickets?

No clue, like I said, it seemed weird, and I couldn't tell if it was related to the form I filled out last week or not.
