I think there's a lot to like about Moose as a player if someone is just being a fan and not looking at the money, but yeah when he signed elsewhere for the money he did you wish him well and say thanks for the memories. I don't recall anybody here wishing the Brewers had signed him to the contract the Reds did, if there were a few they were in the minority. Or am I remembering wrong?

Looking like Arrieta going back to the Cubs. MLBTR saying one year around 6.5/7 million.

Phillies gave him 3 years & 75 million (about 62 million Covid Adjusted) for 352 IP of 99 ERA+ which comes out to 4.4 WAR by BRef's calculations.

ZiPS projects him for 114 IP at 94 ERA+ (1.1 WAR) for 2021.

I'm ok with this one. Not a Cabrera fan at all, but was running out of reasons for the Brewers not to sign him. Moot point now.

Not big on Rich Hill but for $2.5 million I would have been good with that.

Yeah, that seems perfectly reasonable. Would have been nice to have at that price.

Gotta have some decent incentives I imagine.

Sweet! I was not a fan of Rich Hill taking up a spot on our roster. Yes, I understand we could benefit from depth, but I just feel there could be younger, higher upside options out there.

James Paxton to the Mariners. Free agents dropping like flies now.

1 year, $8.5 million. I sure as heck hope he really wanted to pitch in Seattle, because if the Brewers weren't offering someone with his kind of talent more than that, shame on them.

Totally agree with you on this... The only other starter I really want to take a shot on is Walker... Wanted Paxton bad!

I think that was a good gamble of $8M for the Brewers to take. Kind of disappointed with that one.

Spot on, that's really disappointing. That is a steal for Paxton.

Is not being willing to pay anything for starting pitching an organizational philosophy? It seems like they are allergic to free agent pitchers.

We don't know that he would have come here for that same amount, though. But I definitely would have gone 1/10 or so.

Odorizzi and Walker are really the only intriguing starters left.

As much as I kinda don't like the guy, Cole Hamels is still floating around out there. Maybe he would finally see Brewers/Cubs as a rivalry if he were on the other side LOL?

I mean he lives in Wisconsin, so he's literally already here!
