I don't post often in the minor league forum - so go easy on me. And since this isn't just regarding his latest outing, I figured it was worthy of a new thread.

Inman isn't really going to spend all of 2007 pitching for Brevard County is he?

He has been lights out at every level so far. He was really good early in the season at Brevard County - but now is amazing. How long until he gets bumped another level?

If/when Yo gets called to the bigs, does that create a movement where pitchers get bumped up and Inman ends up moving on?

Also, what are we expecting for his estimated time of arrival? Open AAA next year - with maybe a MLB called up halfways through next year?

He's been great - just wondering how long I have to wait until he is ready for the show.

I think he follows a similar path to what Gallardo took last year. Called up about halfway through the year to Huntsville and spend the rest of the year there. Depending on how he does in Huntsville, he'll start next year in Nashville.

I'd say he'll be throwing gems for Huntsville within a month.

He'll be in Huntsville by mid-July, and if all goes well there, be in Nashville to open 2008. That is an amazingly fast ascension for a HS pitcher, especially one that was a third rounder.

Braun and Yo were called up from Brevard in early June last year, so i suspect that Inman and Cole will be called up about then as well...

I'd be impressed if Cole was promoted at the same pace as Braun, but he's been hitting very well of late, as has Cain. Will is a no brainer for an early bump up with the rest of the year in AA. I have no doubt he's on the same path as Yo at this point. How cool is it to have the #1 and #2 strikeout pitchers in all of the minor leagues in the same system?(granted a certain SF prospect would be right there too if he didn't get bumped up earlier)

brian, wouldn't a logical time be the end of the minor league 1st halves? I think that's around June 10th usually

Inman will make another 2-3 starts for Brevard, then he'll move on. There's no point in him striking out 12 guys every 6 innings without making him work for it a little. :)

Does the minor league AS break not coincide with the end of the 1st half?

The couple of weeks after the draft always see significant player movement, in part because of the influx of new players and the beginning of short season leagues, and in part because it's a natural halfway point. Thus I'd expect that some guys in WV might slip down to Helena (Roque Mercedes?), and some new players in low A from the draft, DFE signings, or from extended spring training. It's a bad time to be an underperforming veteran...some of the guys signed in the spring to fill out rosters will be gone.

very true SoCal. One question is...why keep Mercedes in WV all year? Is it to let him learn from mistakes? Is he somehow throwing better than his results indicate? They seem to have a reason, although it's hard to tell.

Ruben Mateo.
He should be gone from Huntsville with Brantley and/or Darren Ford promoted from WV, but it looks like a full year at Brevard for Cain and Gillespie would be best.
As some asked the other day, what the heck's wrong with Femaint? Looks like all the outfielders will stay put this year, unless we get somone lighting it up in Helena, and they barge their way in.

What's funny about that statement is that last year around this time, we had Rogers and Yo k'ing all those in their way, though it was obvious Rogers needed to cut down greatly with the walks Nuke LaLoosh-style.
