After a disappointing departure from the Brewers organization in 2014, Nicky Delmonico (from KRod trade version 1.0) has made it to the majors with the White Sox.

Per Baseball America --

Rangers release RH reliever Jaye Chapman, who struggled at AAA this summer.

Dodgers release Brewers 2012 1st round pick Victor Roache, who hit six home runs in 35 California League (High-A) games for LA, but hit only .192 with an OBP of .257 in 125 AB's.

His .396 AVG and 1.088 OPS in his first 48 ABs isn't too shabby. Wish he wouldn't have pulled a Larry Sanders (for the Bucks fans) and quit on the organization.

interesting article on BR about Delmonico that sheds a lot of light on his mysterious release from the Brewers. Glad to see him turn things around. inspiring story of recovery but also subtly hits at a growing problem with the medical/pharm industry prescribing dangerous, addictive drugs to address symptoms. as someone who struggles with addiction myself, i can sympathize w a lot of the things Nicky touches on- keeping things a secret, struggling with them on your own, letting yourself and others down, perpetuating a cycle of dependence. wish things could have turned out differently from a brewer fan perspective, but from a human perspective, happy to see him have success.

Reliever Tayler Scott, traded to Texas for Jeremy Jeffress at the deadline, was eligible to be a minor league free agent this fall, but has decided to re-sign a minor league deal for 2018 offered by the Rangers, no word if a big league camp invite is involved.

As you'll see at the link above, Scott was immediately bumped from AA (Biloxi) to AAA Round Rock after the trade, and did not exactly shine in 12 outings. The Rangers will overlook that relatively small sample and keep him in the organization.

Brewers 2014 10th round selection RHP Javi Salas announced he is stepping away from baseball and has joined an investment banking firm. He penned a thoughtful goodbye to baseball by summarizing the experiences he encountered while chasing his dream: Three Strikes, Two Languages, One Dream.

I highly recommend taking a couple of minutes to read his goodbye, and Javi includes some very positive reflections of his time in the Brewers organization. Good luck with your future, Javi!

Infielder Jose Sermo, the Brewers' 35th round pick in 2012, released in November 2014 but who re-surfaced in the Red Sox organization in June of 2016 after an indy ball stint, was released by Boston this week. Sermo, now 26 (27 next March) seemed to have several big moments playing against the Mudcats in 2017.

RHP Preston Guilmet, 30, a 2015 waiver claim who made two forgettable appearances with Milwaukee and also saw action with the Sky Sox, has signed a minor league deal with St. Louis after a successful 2017 season in Japan.

Less than two weeks later, Sermo gets scooped up by the Royals organization, good for him.

RHP Aaron Myers, 24, who the Brewers traded to the Orioles last July for international signing pool money (believed to be $250,000), was released by Baltimore this week. Myers, who the Brewers had inked as an undrafted player after the 2015 draft, made nine relief appearances for the Orioles A-Ball team after the trade.

Catcher Shawn Zarraga (Brewers organization 2008 - 2014) has signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers, the only affiliated team he's suited up for in a game since leaving the Brewers in a trade involving three minor league players that didn't prove very fruitful on either end. Zarraga, about to turn 29, was in Reds' camp last spring training but was released, and had to go the indy ball route, before the Dodgers brought him back in July. Now they bring him back again.
