Excited to start to see the Arizona team get younger. A heavily 22 year old loaded team wasn't very interesting to follow outside the wins.

Overall, It looks like Brewers are targeting guys with really good approaches at the plate who take a lot of walks! The hitting and power may not all be there yet and maybe the K's are little high but seeing a professional approach at young ages is great! All guys below are under 20 and were higher picks or signings.
Helena
Gabe Garcia (19 years old) 17% bb% .427 OBP (.150 Higher) wRC+ 118
Chad McClanahan (19 years old) 14% bb% .310 OBP (.110 Higher)

Jesus Lujano (18 years old) 11% bb% .350 OBP (.80 Higher) wRC+ 93 ----30/28 bb/k last season

I have been going through fangraphs tonight and surprisingly, Clint Coulter is actually the top offensive player at Biloxi. He is sitting with a wRC+of 124 and quietly been very good since first month (alone with Nottingham) He could still walk more and K less. Hit for more average would be nice but to some team, he would be an intriguing player still. He is pretty blocked up here, even if he switched to 1st base (wasting maybe the most special arm talent we have in system for OF...sorry Maverick, Clint may have you beat)

Echoing many, hope Wilkerson gets a shot, even in bullpen for the Brewers. He is a solid arm.

Too bad Houser and Barrios are out still, those guys could really have helped this year if arms were 100%

Mudcats fall in extras on a walk-off grand slam
Trent Clark was 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles and a RBI in the loss
By Carolina Mudcats | July 10, 2017 8:00 PM ET

Trent Clark batting for the Carolina Mudcats. (NIKOLAUS - Carolina Mudcats)

Cody Ponce (3 1/3 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 4 K) just didn't have it tonight. He couldn't get his breaking stuff over at all and suffered the consequences. Brad Kuntz (3 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K) continues his strong run out of the bullpen. The tying run came in in the 7th after a dropped 3rd strike and a wild throw by Cooper Hummel put a runner on 2nd. Wuilder Rodriguez (3 1/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) lowered his ERA to 1.09 on the year with Carolina. Frank Lopez served up the grand slam by Zack Collins to take the loss.

Trent Clark (2-3, 2 2B, 2 BB) continues to rake and leads the Carolina league in OPS in the 2nd half. Jake Gatewood was 2-5.

I think due to batting average, people don't realize how good or impressive Clark has been! Reading all these trade posts acting like he is more of a throw in or kind of a bust as a first round pick. Kid is young, power is starting to develop, walks at a 20% clip, steals bases, from what I heard, his arm and defensive have been been than expected this year, and the hitting will come with the K's dropping. Think most of us realize that he is young and maybe too picky with two strikes on him.

His hitting approach as also change which could have lead to Ks remaining high. Also most likely plays role in batting average dip. He is hitting fly balls at a 40% clip where for his first two years he averaged around 25%. He averaged around 30% Pull% now up to 40% with his oppo% percent free falling from 45% to now 18% this year. He use to be more balanced to all fields, now he is more middle to pull. Still a 20% line drive hitter but his GB% to FB% have really reversed. 10 percent of his FB's are HR's compared to the 4-5% he was at.

For most part, I like the way his hitting has change, however, hope the pulling to oppo even out. He can be a deadly hitter if he can get back to more balance between the two. It could be more advanced pitchers are pitching him inside due to him being known as a spray hitter and he maybe struggles more with pitches in. Not sure

Overall, He is a wRC+ of 120 every year without hitting much and I am confident the average will grow. He is to good and natural at the plate not to. He should be a .300 type hitter but overall that whole team has struggled in that area.

Hate that fangraphs doesn't have ability to get the soft, medium, hard percent for these milb guys, that would make breaking down swing and reason babip rise and fall. Like Diaz sitting a very low .297 for him. All I can see is the 10% rise in IFFB% to get hint that he is not centering on ball as well as usual.
