It's been mentioned repeatedly by Counsell and Stearns in the media. Given the nagging nature of blisters and calluses, they want to make sure it responds like normal, plus it keeps him sharp while evaluating where he goes. He could very well slot into Peralta's spot with a bad start, or return to short/long relief where he was pretty good except 1-2 outings.

Coca with as many HRs this year as he had in 16-18 combined.

Anyone who watches the kids in Appleton have a scouting report on this kid. He's tiny and the HR pop seems to be picking up. Is it bat speed or what?

Either, or, he’s gonna help our staff big time.

Coca has matured physically quite a bit in the past few years. He looks a fair bit stronger now. He's still a slender athlete, but it no longer looks like he's about to tip over due to a mild breeze. He has a long-ish swing that has resulted in a 20%+ K rate and scouts have preferred him from the right side of the plate in the past, possibly limiting him to the weak side of a platoon. He does have good bat speed, though, and has begun hitting the ball in the air more. With his open stance and new swing lift, most power is likely to come from the pull side. The key for his development is really going to be strike zone awareness. He's going to strike out due to the swing length, but if he can draw walks and lift balls he can get to, he has a chance to be a fringe-solid regular in the middle infield.

About his defense - it's fine, from what I've been able to tell. I guess the fact that I haven't noticed much about it is a good thing.
