April 18 | 7:10 P.M.

Dodgers (9-2) | Brewers (5-6)
FSN HD | WTMJ 620
ImageImage
1-0, 5.40 ERA, 1.30 WHIP
Versus Brewers | Game Log
Capuano got his first win Thursday vs. the Pirates, giving up two runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. The lefty walked none and struck out seven. In two career starts against the Brewers, he's 1-0 with a 4.63 ERA.
1-1, 6.75 ERA, 1.31 WHIP
Versus Dodgers | Game Log
Could this be an audition for the free-agent-to-be? Extension talks with the Brewers have been tabled, and the Dodgers figure to be big spenders next winter. Greinke was knocked around by the Cubs in his last start.

  1. SS Dee Gordon

This lineup is such a huge relief. Amazing how losing even one piece can throw things out of whack. (Despite my desire to have Lucroy and Gamel moved up)

Capuano is still my nephew's favorite major league player ever since he got on his hands and knees and pulled a baseball from underneath a dumpster that had gotten away when we were playing catch at spring training. He came over with the ball and chatted for about 10 minutes. Then the next season at spring training, he came over, remembered us, asked my nephew about his tee ball team (which he remembered the name), and spent another 15 minutes chatting or so. Total class act. As far as my nephew having a professional athlete as a role-model, I'm not sure he can do better than Capuano. Therefore, I will be cheering for the Brewers to get the win, but I hope it's like 2-1 or so with Cappy pitching very well.

I have nothing to add aside from that this is an awesome story, and I now like Cappy even more than I already did.

That's a really neat story about your nephew and Chris Capuano. He always seemed like a class act when he was in Milwaukee, and you have to respect a guy that has come back from injuries like him. He's been a very good back end of the rotation guy throughout his career.

I'll be cheering for a solid outing from Capuano and a 15-0 Brewers win after he exits.

It rolled into a fenced in garbage area by one of there practice fields where Cappy was working out. My nephew, 5 yo at the time, started tearing up. I said don't worry buddy, I'll get you another ball. Cappy was standing inside the fence and saw what happened, said don't worry, I got it. And as he's on his hands and knees, stretching as far as his arm will go, all I'm thinking is "Please God, don't tear anything." At least he used his right arm.

Why on earth can't RR see fit to move Gamel and Lucroy up in the order??

Wait, I forgot, catchers hit 8th.

That still does not explain Gonzalez hitting in front of Gamel.

This looks better to me:

1.2B Rickie Weeks
2.CF Carlos Gomez
3.LF Ryan Braun
4.3B Aramis Ramirez
5.RF Corey Hart
6.1B Mat Gamel
7.C Jonathan Lucroy
8.SS Alex Gonzalez
9.P Zack Greinke

I'd even consider swapping out Ramirez and Hart...

Tonight's jut-for-fun O/U bet: Greinke's slowest pitch at 62.5 mph.

Can't be a winning streak if you don't get the second one, Crew.

I like that lineup but Roenicke's thinking is Gamel is a lefty so he can't hit lefties well. If he wants to go that route, I'd still do Lucroy 6th and Gonzo 8th.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Thanks for sharing prophet. That story is fantastic. Cappy's a smart guy.

I really want a win tonight, and maybe an A-Ram HR.

Any lineup that has Gonzalez batting 7th and Gomez 8th would look good enough to me. The fact that RR sees fit to bat 2nd a guy with a projected OBP below .300 shows me he just doesn't get it. Yeh, he has the platoon advantage but so does most of the lineup.

I hate watching Corey Hart try to play defense.

Could he have taken a worse route to that ball?

wow, Greinke has thrown two clear strikes (on tv and pitch fx), including the 1-2 pitch to the 2nd hitter. Hart with a terrible route, but ump whiffed on a clear strike 3.

I signed on to say this same thing. How did he become for slow and so bad in the field. I like the hot streaks with the bat, but I will never be a big fan of his.

That too. Greinke getting zero breaks in his last two starts. Hopefully his luck turns around quickly here
