Who has a list of free agent starting pitchers for next year? It seems to me that if we can add a couple of frontline starters to this offense, we may be competing sooner than anyone thought. Why not, we should have a ton of cash to spend, right?

EDIT: but of course, we'd need an overhaul of this putrid bullpen to have any shot at competing though...

Off the top of my head I know Arrieta and Cueto are the best available .

8 runs and we are still fighting for a W. Sounds about right.

I've come to appreciate more how much a competent pitching coach can do for a team, probably more so than any other coaching position including manager.

Cueto needs to opt out - which he'll do if he plays well.

There's also Yu Darvish and Masahiro Tanaka (assuming Tanaka opts out of his contract - not a given if he has a poor year).

I don't see the Brewers outbidding big market teams for top of the rotation starters.

I don't think that fits Stearns plan of acquiring young controlable talent.

Keon gives me hope that he's snapping out, and then he has an at-bat like he had in the bottom of the 7th where he seemed completely lost.

Torres has basically sucked all season. Time to move on.

Great, so the Brewers will lose this game after leading for most of it because this bullpen is so putrid. I guess if we're going for another high draft pick, this is really the way to lose the game but damn it's frustrating.

How do you not address the pen with what they are seeing from this offense? To often Brewers management allows horrendous pitching for too much of the beginning of the season and before you know it, season lost.

As a closer, the two things you can't do is walk guys and give up home runs. That's about all Feliz does.

Can someone explain why CC pulled Knebel after 7 pitches? Why bring in Torres?

I agree. Rebuilding year or not, it's one thing to lose games, it's another to not give a crap when the reason you're losing is so blatant. Just a bit of pitching is what they need to at least stay competitive. Maybe we don't want that, but at this point I'd rather start winning if we're not far off (which I think we aren't).
