If you're coaching to win, how do you end up out of bench players, with 4 lefties in a row, when their best remaining pitcher is a lefty....

CUBS LOSE! CUBS LOSE!

Run Martinez out for two innings and a game high number of pitches, Davis takes the L, Knebel gets rest, and the game is back to being an exhibition like it should be? Works for me!

That was fitting, predictable, and just.

Gotta feel a little bad for Corey, there was a large contingent of Knebels at the game.

Not a coincidence he didnt get to pitch.

I'm good with Knebel not pitching. Rest up bud. It's going to be a fun second half

Agreed. Knebel pitched in the two games leading up to the ASG, and was not as efficient as he had been previously. Let him have the honor of being there and still get the rest he needs. I'd much rather the Cubs closer blow the game instead of the Brewers closer.

Yes, if the NL had to lose that game I'm glad it was the lone Cub All Star that blew it. [wink]

I thought it was like 4-44 but when the AL started the string the Brewers were still in the league for the next 10 years or so.

I think the national league losing on the sole cub giving up the go ahead homer in the 10th with corey not pitching is much more enjoyable then them winning with corey striking out the side to save it. Is that wrong?

If HFA was still at stake, I'd probably be a little annoyed. But yeah now I couldn't care less about which league wins.
