Every single appearance, Swarzak gives up at least one ball to the warning track at minimum. Hopefully, like usual, its just once.

Just curious but when was the last home run by Braun? Seems like a long time ago.

I'm not sure. 13 HR at the end of August is a pretty underwhelming number for him.

He's still a good player. He's just no longer a great one. We just need him to be 'good' for 3 more years while hopefully staying relatively healthy.

While he is in his rut right now, his slugging numbers are not too far off his career norms. He's one hot streak away from people fawning how great of a hitter he is again. Hopefully that's coming the last 20 games to get us in the playoffs.

Villar will and should be our second basemen next season. Walker is still a nice addition but there's just too much potential with Villar to go in another direction.

Well, Stearns was asked about it the other day and sounded like it could go either way.

This was my issue with the Walker signing. I didn't want to see Villar rotting away on the bench right as things were finally clicking for him . Which is exactly what was happening up until a day or two ago.

I don't think either of them will rot down the stretch on the bench. I don't get to watch many Brewers games but i'm fairly certain I saw Walker playing 1B, and I think he plays 3B too once in awhile. Never hurts to have a competent big leaguer to spell the INF down the stretch over YuniB.

There's a run Broxton could have saved. He had no business getting so close to that wall and allowing a triple. He plays that right and that guy is stranded this past inning.

This was asked recently and i think the last time was the reds series before the road trip and then 1 in each of the phillies series after the break. So few and far between.

In the last three weeks his OPS HAS gone from .918 to .832 heading into today.

Right now it is looking like Villar should be playing 2B and Walker should be platooning with Aguilar at 1B with Thames riding the pine

How is "hey, ump, could ya take a look at that play?" ANY different to a challenge?

Yes, I don't understand that either. MLB should just give a team 2 or 3 challenges per game or leave it like it is and a manager cannot ask for one later on if he is out of challanges.

His overall numbers don't speak to how well he's actually swung the bat this year. He can go 0-4 tonight with 4 line outs to the OF and his overall numbers will be worse than they are right now. Doesn't matter because if he consistently has good ABs then good things are going to happen moving forward. He's the only player in the lineup I never worry about.

And he's averaged 516AB the past 3yrs. His 13HR this year, given those 516AB, would put him on pace for 24HR. He's averaged 25HR the past 3yrs. 2wks ago he was hitting 295/370/918....bet at that point in time people weren't talking about how he's no longer great

Nah, I said awhile back that Braun is still good, no longer great . He's got a comparable WAR this year to players like Keon Broxton and Hernan Perez, even less depending on which type you reference. What do you want me to say?

No doubt there's been some bad luck these last few weeks. There's also just been bad ABs. You don't lose 100 points off your OPS in 2 weeks in late August/early September off just bad luck.
