Broxton is one of the most bizarre hitters I can remember. He can't handle straight pitches down the middle. Bizarre.

Great win, really would be nice if the bats can get going the rest of the series.

Sick of this pathetic offense. No joy in it.

I'd give Aguilar a start tomorrow and see if he can add some thunder to the lineup.

Great to win, every win against the Cubs now isn't nice, it's completely necessary.

The bad news is that the offense continues to be completely lifeless. It's essentially become a 'have to keep them off the board' game for our pitching staff in the second half.

Thames had one of our four hits. A double and scored a run to be exact. In a 2-0 ball game. The only reason he won't start is because they are facing a lefty.

The offensive environment is tough on cold nights in Chicago. The cubs had just as much trouble. I think aguilar gets a start tomorrow but only because of the lefty starter. I figure Perez or villar will start at 2nd for walker and everything else stays the same.

2B- Villar
3B- Walker
LF- Braun
RF- Santana
1B- Aguilar
C- Pina
CF- Broxton or Perez if CC wants to
SS- Arcia

It's not that hard CC.

They have pretty much tried everything to jumpstart the offense. Aguilar starting, Villar in CF. They could try something like batting the pitcher 8th, there's some merit to that but at this point there's not a lot that can be done. Either they get it going or they don't.

We got pretty lucky missing Lester, Arrieta, Quintana. Maybe the baseball Gods are smiling on us this season.

Colorado Springs has 16 runs tonight. Maybe we can swap offenses with them and finally score some runs.

This is (hopefully) very good news on Nelson's status going forward.

One thing I like this year in September is it seems Stearns is fine with bringing up just about everyone to the active roster. Melvin always seemed to complain about too many people being allowed to be active during September and I always thought that was dumb. The rules are what they are, take advantage of them, put 12 guys in your bullpen, carry a pinch runner, 4 catchers, whatever. I don't care if a few of them are only used once or twice the whole month.

I think they will have to replace Coles as hitting coach i don't think all the blame falls on him but unless they get new hitters someone has to be the scape goat.
