So should they go out and pick up a starter?

They will be 3 out.

Pick up in September? Who?

Any pitching help will be internal I would think. Pretty much has to be.

McCalvey tweet
Cubs have pulled their big boys from the game at 11-0 in the sixth. Bryant, Rizzo, Baez and the whole starting outfield are out.

You know things are going well when that bunted ball stays fair.

I hope CC is proactive and takes Braun out now. Use this as his off day so he can play tomorrow and through Pitt. If we don't hold an 8 run lead, we don't deserve the win.

A little early for that. If it's still an eight+ run lead after six than do it. You can't take this win for granted right now when we need all the Ws we can get.

Disagree. 8 is and should be enough. Get him off his feet and put a better defensive player out there. It could've paid dividends down the road as he might play a game he normally wouldn't of.

If the Brewers get any deeper into the Cubs bullpen we will probably see a rainout tomorrow.

Spring Training lineup change time! Get Bandy, Phillips, Sogard and Villar in there now. I'm confident they can't blow a 14 run lead!

I haven't checked but I'm sure there was a big contract or two that passed thru waivers.

It's possible Nelson might miss some of 2018 so might be a cheap way to pick up a guy to carry us in September and use next year too?

It's a moot point now, but "should" is the operative word here. These are the Brewers after all, and it's not like losing a game you had an eight run lead in is unprecedented. A "we don't deserve to win if we blow this big lead" is a dangerous mindset to have when you're battling for a playoff spot, especially a game against the Cubs. Did you think the Falcons had the Super Bowl wrapped up at 28-3?

That being said, I think we're safe now with a 14 run lead.

So, it looks like we found our offense, gentlemen. [laughing]

Our next door neighbor is a huge Cubs fan...and he flies that infernal "W" flag after every Cubs win. I ran next door when I saw it was 12-0, and had to take a picture of the flag that is conspicuously missing after last night's game. It normally flies from a post next to the lamp on the left side of his garage door.

I feel relatively confident that said flag will be absent again in the morning when I go to get my newspaper.

[laughing] [laughing] [laughing] [laughing] [laughing]

It's moments like this one where I love my iPhone 7. ProCam 4 and RAW format gives me a DSLR in my pocket. It's always at the ready to pimp my Cub fan friends. [tongue]

Wrigley is a dump, Coshun.

Me and a friend of mine went to the Rams game at Lambeau last week and he was telling me seeing how beautiful Lambeau Field is reminds him of how much of a dump Wrigley is.

After all the "stuff" the Cubs have pulled this year on us, if we get a runner on in the ninth, steal.

Bean a half dozen hitters, just to see Maddon explode, and torture the bleacher bums!

Wish we would see Williams for a few innings instead of our old, scrub relievers.

Well, the Nelson news sure is a downer. And at 199 Ks no less.

Damn, I was really hoping to make the playoffs, and see how Chase, Jimmy and Zach could do. That would have been a pretty formidable 1-2-3 at the top of the rotation. [sad]

We need to get that run back.
