Last night's loss wasn't as sloppy but with the great pitching by both starters it was really a bore 'till the tension in the 8th and 9th. But nowadays I don't watch live. I roll the ugliness in an hour or less on DVR. That also spares me listening to Jim Edmonds and Tim McCarver blathering the company line. To listen to those two phonies you'd think the Cards were in first place.

Who gets drilled today and how many times will the benches clear? I can't see the Cardinals just letting Eric get away with his transgressions from yesterday. And even though I doubt the Brewers will do anything about it, it's be nice to see a Cardinal go down for Cain getting beaned and Munoz douchebagery.

Don't feel picked on, Jericho. The Cards hit everybody, wild pitch to everybody, walk everything. It's the new Cardinal Way.

Yes, there were plenty of examples where the Brewers were in violation of the Cardinal Way, unexplainable to children. Will it be Thames for his temper tantrum, Sogard for his malicious slide, or Aguilar for having the audacity to start a celebration at home plate after a walk off home run? The irony of the latter is the Cardinals have the most walk off wins of anybody this year and amazingly enough, they've celebrated every one.

Still no Braun in the lineup. It's getting pretty silly at this point that he wasn't just put on the DL.

I get Santana going down to get some AB's, but the fact that Sogard remains, even with Miller on the roster is pretty silly.

This is SOP for the team. it always takes them a few days to realize that. I predict they'll finally do it tomorrow.

I agree that Braun probably should have went on the DL, this team's management of the 10 day has been pretty silly this year.

That said, it shouldn't ever really be a surprise to see him out of the lineup anymore. With our current healthy personnel he is pretty much a bench player, is he not?

I find it amusing a bit that Miller was bruoght in and sent down to get a crash course in SS play (thus allowing me to assume they are using him to spell Arcia) ... then is brought up and gets the start over Villar while Perez mans SS.

Not to be dramatic, but if Anderson gives up more homerun(s) tonight I wonder if it's time to start questioning his spot in the rotation.

Who said Braun isn’t healthy? It’s entirely possible he’s cleared and CC just didn’t feel he was the best option yesterday or today. If he sits vs a lefty then I will question it.

Braun isn't playing because Thames and Jesus are. Tough right handed pitcher going for Cards.

No need to DL him......CC just riding the hot hand.

It is amazing that people still think CC and Stearns don't know what they are doing.

Relax

TH tweet

CC on Braun sitting out again today: "Ryan is doing fine; he’s doing great. But if we can give him more time, great. We have guys playing well. I think it works out for both of us in that perspective. He’ll definitely play tomorrow."

Yesterday felt like a bonus with the Reds coming back to win and Flaherty looking incredible, but I knew going into this series that today was probably not going to go our way. Mikolas has been great this year and despite a few very strong starts, Anderson has been pretty bad. The Cards offense looks pretty awful though so if the Brewers can get some runs early maybe it'll be enough to hold on.

Any Cubs loss or Brewers win today would feel like EXTRA helpings of icing on the cake though. Probably going to need a strong day offensively to get it done.

They'll retroactively put him on the 10 day DL 8 games into missed action for him

Between the equity he built up last year and the 1.18 2018 WHIP I think he at least gets 2 more starts...
