"You're not going to have him when you want him and you're going to run out of games. He can't pitch 90 games. It's just not going to work. If anyone thinks it's going to work, show me how."- Craig Counsell on Josh Hader.

With Nova and Williams up next Cubs are in serious trouble. Just keep winning and we are good to go.

Plus they play a Cardinal team that will likely need a sweep just to have a playoff shot with the way the Rockies are playing.

How about some love for the amazing bullpen too? After Cedeno they fired off another 5.0 scoreless innings, and without Hader or Jeffress.

Pretty sure a 1980s Serbian basketball player is pitching for the Pirates now.

Yes, this is playing out as best it can. Hopefully the Pirates can keep sticking it to the Cubs and then the Cardinals can take a few from the Cubs as well.

I’ve been following the Brewers since ‘78 when I was 6.

Don’t think I’ve ever had a September like this. Brewers had several late-season surges that came up short (87 and 92 come to mind).

In ‘82, the Brewers barely held on. In ‘11, the Brewers peaked in August and wasn’t playing their best at seasons’ end.

This is so much fun. I was in St. Louis last night and the nervous energy from both sets of fans was such that I haven’t felt in a game I attended in a long, long time. Sharing it with fellow Brewers fans, chanting “MVP!”, etc., and then having it end in a win was the absolute best.

Go get it Brewers. Go get it ALL!

Barnes needs to get through this with an era under 63.

How about an ERA of 3.35?

For a guy with an ERA of 3.35 and a FIP around 3.65, I sure don't get the hate for him around here.

I would have said that for any pitcher. I don’t have any animosity toward Barnes.

If we win out, the division and the #1 seed will be ours. I believe that. 4 to go.

I love that things are unfolding that both the Cubs and Cardinals need to play to win in their series.

I just got some tickets for Sunday. I'm feeling like we're going to have something big to play for that day...

What is best in life? To crush the Cardinals, Cubs, and Manny Machado, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their fanboys.

Down 6 runs in the 8th the Cub's fans still manage to cheer like they won the game on a flyball that doesn't even reach the warning track.

Right now is the exact opposite of what things felt like at the end of the 5-game series sweep in Pittsburgh. This is so much fun.
