27 pitches 26 strikes 8 Ks yeah I’d say he ready.

They don't track pitch counts properly in ST. It'll just automatically show 3 pitches for a K, 1 for other outs and 1 for each hit etc. I don't know the exact workings, but point is to not trust the pitch counts from ST box scores.

In all seriousness, I was really hoping Chase would attack this spring training with a chip on his shoulder after being benched last year, but he's been very inconsistent again.

I hoped the same, but expected basically what we’ve seen.

Save the 2nd half of 2017, watching Chase it seems there is a simple problem here. He’s just not a very good MLB pitcher. Doesn’t throw hard, doesn’t have great stuff. He’s an ok #5 or decent replacement rotation piece, but not much more.

I will be rooting very hard for him to prove me wrong, but I just don’t see it. He was such a glaring sell high candidate after 2017, but the total lack of rotation depth precluded that unfortunately.

I am not Shea Vucinich

Another negative result of the Nelson injury. They needed Anderson to be the team's ace, and that backfired.

They should continue to look because not seeing Chase being a guy we can count on in 2019

These Angels announcers are 95% of why some people think baseball is boring.

When Peralta gets the ball over the plate he’s the most unhittable starting pitcher in baseball.

Peralta going nowhere except straight to the big league rotation and staying there. Goodness gracious what potential!

Peralta’s line today is one of the oddest box score/stat line’s I’ve ever seen. He appeared to be absolutely lights out with the Kd but also gave up a bunch of hits/BB.

He was mostly lights out, was a couple of LHB he seemed to lose his control against and walked. Other than that he was hurt by a WP strikeout and two fly balls that the OFs lost in the sun.

Two of his hits were a seeing eye grounder and a fly ball that Ray lost in the sun. In fact that homer he gave up to Bour should've been a solo shot instead of 3-run. First batter reached on a strikeout that Kratz let get to the backstop, the second was the fly ball Ray didn't see so instead of pitching to Bour with two outs and nobody on he was pitching to him with two on and nobody out.

So bad. And their attempt to analyze the Brewers minor system was embarrassing.

Brandon Woodruff dealing again, with 5 Ks though two innings. He has to be in the rotation, right?

Absolutely foolish if he's not.

I guess an ace trumps a shutdown pen arm.

He has to have a spot in the 5 man rotation.

Nelson pitches a 1-2-3 inning, touching 95 on the gun according to McCalvy. That is pretty dang promising news. At this point, there's no reason we wouldn't see Nelson by mid-April.

Pitchers had been waiting for this the (first?) day without the DH. Corbin Burnes singles, walks and scores a run. Adrian Houser hits a 2-run HR.

And great to see Jimmy with 2 solid scoreless innings. Hasn't walked a batter yet.

Good news on the 95. Assuming he can up
It a couple ticks building up his arm strength.

He typically sat at 95 in 2017, with the ability to dial it up to 97 on occasion. Great to see him there in mid-March.
