Care to elaborate on how having the 3rd best record of 15 NL teams is “bad baseball” ?

It’s not. It’s just expecting something and not seeing it happen. Many had way too high of expectations and it’s ruining a time in Brewers history for them. Maybe some re-runs of the early 2000’s would help during rain delays or something.

I don't think this is accurate. Burnes, Peralta and Chacin weren't expected to pitch to sub 3 ERA but certainly weren't expected 8.69, 5.54 and 5.60 ERA. Shaw and Aguilar should have been expected to hit 25-30 HR given their past two seasons. No one expected this drop off. There have been no answers and let's not start talking about the bullpen.

Put simply, this team isn't even meeting averages let alone expectations.

This. If you go through every player on the team one by one there are a lot more performing below expectations than above.

One the above I put Yelich (who I thought wouldn’t be able to be as good as he was after the AS break last year), Moustakas, and Grandal. Woodruff has come along and Davies was there but is showing signs of returning more to “meeting expectations”.

There are a lot more in the way below expectations category. In addition to the ones you mentioned, I didn’t see Cain’s OBP dropping by 100 points. I had expected more depth in the bullpen, but the injuries to Knebel and Wahl and Jefress’ regression took care of that.

No one is going to mention how the offense sucked and blew the game once again?

With two outs and RISP this season, Saladino has a 1.405 OPS.

Not sure about park factors as he has been significantly better at home than on the road (and is in the PCL), but he's been almost equally productive against RHP as LHP.

I don't know who goes down other than Shaw, and if he goes down I'd rather see Hiura up.

I don't get this argument at all. Do we not deserve to expect great Brewer teams just because we had terrible teams 20 years ago so now we should just appreciate anything better?

I said a similar thing a month ago or so, but record-wise, we are fine. There is nothing wrong with our record. Performance-wise, we are not fine. We have played about. 500 quality baseball and been fortunate to have enough bounces go our way to be better than that. It would be good to see them correct those performance issues because our record pace isn't sustainable with this kind of performance to date.

As far as expectations, we are returning almost everyone from last year's team that missed the World Series by 1 game, only now we added Moose for the entire season instead of 2 months plus one of the best catchers in baseball.

I think the high expectations are quite fair.

Having expectations are great and should happen. Thinking that it was a for sure WS caliber team is another thing. Many breaks went the Brewers way a season ago. It was great. Stearns tried to off set some of the corrections by adding the players he did. This team can get hot again and make a run but it won’t be a shock if they don’t.

Brewer baseball has been less than wonderful on this road trip, frankly. We haven't gotten many breaks but we've screwed up too. Like I said in another GDT thank goodness it is still June and we have a lot of baseball to be played.
