His command is gone. Been that way the last 4-5 outings. He’s the first to go when Stearns improves the pen, Claudio the second. Or is it the other way around?

Sometimes I think you just say things without actually looking up data.

[laughing] You know it.

Lefty Alex Claudio has posted a 1.40 ERA over his last 24 appearances (19.1ip, 3er), including 0.82 over his last 15 outings (11ip, 1er).

But yeah, I’m sure Claudio is on his way out the door...

Well...no Braun and no Hiura tonight, I guess we should have expected this...but still...ouch. Not a good time to be losing to the Reds...especially at home. Go Giants I guess.

These are the games (series) that have me so hesitant about wanting to be a buyer. Just don’t see this team as a legit contender.

Of course the giants have been red hot, but just watch...since the Cubs are in town, this will be the series they suddenly go cold.

It’s so tough. They can still win this series. But you make some noise with big series wins to give it right back against crap teams at home. It’s like the complete definition of a .500 team

True, but without Hiura and to a lesser extent Braun, it gives me a little hope that they can rebound tomorrow and Wednesday. Assuming they dont make a come back tonight.

Also why I'll be glad that Stearns doesn't pull a fan-like emotional reaction to losing Woodruff by rushing to fill the void. He gets nine days of additional information to decide what to do - wise to go ahead and take it.

True. But they aren’t good either. They still are like 8 games under right?

They have the 2nd worst winning % in the NL behind only the Marlins.

I stand by my Albers observation. Claudio regression to the mean, due for a good streak. When used properly he’s ok, but who else do you replace if we add 2 pen arms and Nelson.? Loogy’s imo, only NEEDED vs dodgers, maybe Cubbies somewhat. But that’s why Hart is still on the 40 man.

The Reds have a +27 run differential, which means they aren't a crap team. They're a team with decent to mediocre talent with a losing record.

Why are we talking about their overall record? Does Sonny Gray pitch every night? They have an ace on the mound tonight and their offense, while overall not great this year, has some punch when they feel like it.
