Too bad that didn't get out. Would have breathed some life into this game.

No team with a -30 run differential has ever made the playoffs. That the Brewers have hung around this long is something of a small miracle. That's not an excuse for the deficiencies, as there's a few, just pointing out a statistical fact.

I was told early in the summer, repeatedly, that the poor run differential was far less meaningful about the prognosis for this team than the potential positive regression from all the under performers.

There's just no way to go on any kind of extended run with a pitching staff this bad

This game was decided before the usual start time.

The Cardinals are determined to bury the Brewers and the Brewers are bending over.

It’s been a slow fade for the last couple of months, but by Sunday there shouldn’t be anyone saying things like “They’re only X games out” or “Last year....”.

This team really was done by all star break. Not by mathematical probabilities, but you could just tell they weren’t really very good

I was resigned to this fate earlier than most people, they just weren’t even close to last years team where I was considerably confident of their chances by the end of July.

I cant wait until its the last week of the season and you two are jerking each other off about how correct you about the Brewers being mediocre. I mean, I know that's why I come to this place. Thank you again for being such great fans and letting us all know about it.

Suter and Nelson. That’s 2 secret weapon’s. Peralta’s can be a weapon. There’s more on the pitching side. But devoid of position prospects, if moose has a broken wrist, that’s a major problem. But we have Spangenberg.

Almost every one has said they're mediocre since like June. This isn't some blazing hot take but they keep pretending it is.

Spangenberg was not even good enough to make the 40 man roster out of spring training, man. He's nothing. He's a waiver wire guy.

Nelson has been a complete disaster and has to be in the camp of "prove it" before he can be counted on for anything. Peralta was recently demoted from the MLB roster because of how bad he was pitching and sports a 5.73 ERA and -.9 WAR on the year.

Suter is a secondary soft tossing 6th starter/swingman who hasn't pitched in 13 months.

These. Are the secret weapons. You are expecting to rescue a -30 run differential team and turn it into a playoff team. And you see no problem with this.

The focus must turn to the future in my opinion. You have to find out what is what for next year. This team has so many questions to answer. Shaw is going to have to get a chance to see if he can be resurrected or if he's Chris Davis. Same with Nelson. I hope we don't waste time with the pipe dream of one extra game and go into the off season with zero answers and a billion questions. Play Grisham and see if he's for real. Let's go.

All those questions can be answered in the spring and even if Grisham played every game starting tomorrow it would do little to tell you what you have. The team is what it is this year. Play for WC2 because you have a chance, try to have a little fun watching it because winter is long and we've seen far worse.

Anyway, does anyone know when the Yankees last came to Milwaukee? I can't remember off the top of my head and noticed they do next year. Definitely want to upgrade my seats for that.

Anything to help. I was thinking you came here to learn how to put your pants on the morning. You have to do one leg first then the other. You can’t do both of them at the same time if you are standing up

Now if you sit down, you can actually put both legs in at the same time

You follow what’s happening with their rehabs, you know your seriously sandbagging/downgrading what Nelson and Suter are doing at San Antonio for an extended period of time. And Peralta’s last game 0 BBS 5 Ks.

Nelson has pitched 14 innings for San Antonio since he got sent down and has walked 9.

That's all fine and well, but Suter still hasn't pitched against MLB hitting in 13 months. Nelson was awful when he was up. Peralta has been pretty darn awful much of the season. You're counting on a LOT of things to go seriously right to just start to turn things around, let alone turn a mediocre team into a necessary 8 out of 10 winning streak.

I don't think anyone is saying "don't be optimistic", but that's a LOT that has to go right, and most of those guys haven't even scratched MLB this season. Spangenburg? There's a reason he's been in AAA all year. He's a .700 OPS utility guy. Suter isn't a secret weapon. He's a decent multi-role soft tossing lefty. Nelson might not have anything to offer against MLB hitting. We don't even KNOW that yet, so calling him a "weapon" already is SUPER pre-mature based on AAA stats.

Wow, Gonzalez had been pretty solid...very disappointing he would come out and lay an egg like this. Especially against Wainwright, who is a pitcher I wouldn't have much confidence in if I was a Cardinal's fan. I really liked the Brewer's chances going into tonight's game...so much for that....

Huira needs to look for high gas.
With his swing you can bet they're going after him above the belt with fastballs and Sliders off the plate away

There's the difference. We just can't seem to get the big hit. So frustrating.
