Nats have seven tough ones after this Marlins series.

They actually have 8 games (all at home), including a doubleheader against the Phillies.

This is where looking at the loss column makes sense. The Nats are 1 game ahead of the Brewers, but 2 games ahead in the loss column. So, simply put, the Nats have to lose two of their remaining 9 games for the Brewers to even have a chance to catch them.

The Phillies are hanging by a thread in the wild card race so hopefully they will come out swinging as their last gasp. The Indians (who the Nats play next weekend) have a better chance of still being alive when they go to DC.

The Brewers have an “easier” schedule from the standpoint of not playing playoff contenders, but those road games are going to be a lot tougher than playing the Pirates and Padres at home. The Reds have pitchers fully capable of pitching shutouts. They haven’t been laying down for the Cubs and Mets.

The Reds series will not look much like this Pirates series. The Reds will put up a fight, and their pitching can easily shut us down if they are on.

Those who take the Reds series lightly might be disappointed, or, they might not be, we shall see.

What are the implications if today's Cubs/Cards game is rained out? I mean is it possible that the Cubs could remain in standings limbo 'till the game is made up end of next week? Smoke's coming out of my ears trying to figure this out.

I saw someplace it would be made up on the 30th if rained out...
