Thank god this series is over. We did our job. Any loss would have felt like two losses

Now it’s tine for the diamondbacks and cubs to whip the cardinals butt from here on out

86 wins with 6 left. Who would have thought in August that this team would have a legit shot at 90?

Strong outing from Williams. Hope the pitching staff can keep doing its thing here. Two runs isn't enough for me...

It is for me.
Our pitching right now is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY OUTRAGEOUSLY MASSIVELY THE BEST EVER!!!!

There, someone had to say it.

Gio kept grimacing. Knew the game wouldn’t remain perfect as a result of that.

Also, Arcia should have had that. I’d question if it should be an error instead of a hit.

I'd question if you knew how hard it is to make some of these plays. Yes, Arcia will tell you he should make that play and he is talented enough to do so. But it's not easy.

MOST professional SS in MLB make that play.

I get it, it isn't routine, but he should have had it, and no excuse making will hide that fact.

I've made that play myself countless times when I was still playing, it wasn't that hard.

Not being a jerk. Just questioning if you understand how hard plays are to make like that. It wasn't a hit. It was a tough play that Arcia is capable of pulling off that he did not.

Maybe not quite jerkish, but borderline for sure. Condescending is probably a better fit.

The bolded part has me rolling on the floor. Good for you though.

Still not a hit. Which is what was questioned.

Have you never played competitive baseball?

Laugh all you want, but that play is made often, and not just by big leaguers.

[laughing] You gotta stop. You are killing me over here. Trust me, I’m not laughing at the idea that this play can be made at levels not of an MLB player.

From Haudricourt:

Just chatted with #Brewers official scorer Tim O'Driscoll, one of the best in the business. He said once SS Orlando Arcia left his feet to attempt diving catch on Reynolds liner, that clinched calling it a hit. Went beyond ordinary effort.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Thanks! Apparently Haudricourt determined it to be question-worthy as well...

Playoff odds now at 97.0% Every other team in line for the playoffs with their fancy run differentials all over +100, and we're just having a good time of it at -2. [tongue]

I had the brewers at 85 wins when they hit the all star break

They have gone by that. Hopefully way by that

These things aren't perfect but given how hard it was and the launch angle etc the expected AVG on that ball was .780. I don't think that takes shifts etc into account though.

Couldn't disagree more, honestly. That's a hit the vast majority of the time, IMO.

What a time to be alive.

"You're not going to have him when you want him and you're going to run out of games. He can't pitch 90 games. It's just not going to work. If anyone thinks it's going to work, show me how."- Craig Counsell on Josh Hader.
