Big game today. Here’s hoping for a win and clinching the Wild Card. Bonus for eliminating the Cubs too!

If the last series was the Cubs at Milwaukee, would any Cubs fans show?

This might be the smallest game they've had since June. Kinda weird. Keep it rolling though.

Expect a big day from Thames, Mahle has been crushed by Thames in his young career and it's the Reds.

Well, Cards with an afternoon game, so we'll know what's at stake re: the division early on in this one (unless they play 19 again).

But, no matter what happens in the desert, this is what you play for. Win and into the postseason. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Cubs fans come to Miller Park even when the Cubs aren't playing.... so yes.

Nah. Even if the Cards win today, you play to win today and tomorrow, and go into Friday two games down.

Oh, I agree totally. Was just saying the stakes/level of hope get much higher with a Cardinal loss this afternoon. Certainly, you play to win the division as much as possible (without doing something crazy like burning Hader for 4 innings in the next two days or something) until the math says you don't.

I texted Lyles' Brewer stats to my friend who is a Pirates fan. His response to me was not nice.

I remember ... drunk moron rushed the field and looked like he was attacking Spiers. He's lucky he only got 90 days in jail ... and that Mike Hampton didn't break him in half.

Random tidbit, that fan died last year. He was 20 something when he did that.

Sounds about right for Milwaukee/ Chicago/ Cleveland (etc.). I could see me convincing my friend to do that at 18-19. Oh alcohol and boredom before those lovely phones you stare at all day now.

If you think a possible chance to be 1 game from the division lead is small, sure.

Strange. I have no recollection of it. And I was 29 at the time.

Let's cash in big here and start celebrating a playoff berth early.
