Wish this was a day game. Waiting until 7pm the last couple weeks has been agonizing.

Barring a huge early lead I am expecting a short Gio start that then goes to the good pen arms. Might as well prime the likes of Suter/Pom/Hader for their potential multi inning work Tuesday.

Yeah, this is going to be the game where they go for it. Lose this one, and tomorrow's game may not matter much.

It’s nice that Cubs-cards is an hour ahead of us. Maybe that will help with bullpen decision making.

What is best in life? To crush the Cardinals, Cubs, and Manny Machado, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their fanboys.

And if the Nationals win before we even play there is no chance we host the WC either.

Why? We win today and tomorrow has to matter. I don’t see how the Cardinals outcome either way will sway our decision making. You pitch guys multiple innings today and they can still be available Monday (though maybe not in multi inning capacity) and would be full participants Tuesday if we don’t get to play Monday.

It probably won’t really effect much tomorrow either. If those guy don’t end up in a game today they probably pitch tomorrow regardless for an inning as they haven’t played in days at that point. Doubt we have guys not pitch from Thursday until Tuesday.

I've heard that if we tie the Cards and lose game 163 we will host the Nationals even if they have a better record.

No, I don't believe that's correct. We can tie the Cards and if the Nats have a better record, they are still WC1. It's just that game 163 will have no bearing on WC standings.

Thanks for the correction. There was a tweet from McCalvy this week that I misread, not seeing the "tied" part with the Nats.

I love September because I just laugh when I see an ‘other teams IGT’. It’s mostly talked about in the Brewers IGT anyway.
