I’d like to see Tyrone Taylor and/or Mark Matthias get in the lineup a bit more-like today

I added this to the 2020 Lineup thread, but will share here as well.

Counsell discussed the future of 1B playing time in his pregame press briefing today.

Via Will Sammon...

Counsell: Vogelbach's ABs will predominately come as DH. Gyorko will see action at 1B. Mentioned Peterson and Mathias as guys who could get innings there.

Added Keston Hiura could see action there, too.

Corey Knebel will be activated this weekend, per Counsell. He threw Monday and yesterday. "He felt good, good results, velocity was up from the Monday outing," Counsell said.

I understand Gamel getting playing time but why is Peterson getting playing time over Taylor?

Better question ... why isn't Ryan Braun on the injured list?

Formerly Joey Meyer Bombs

Because Peterson is a lefty

Taylor (and Mathias) should just do some dry swing lefty when CC walks by so they could actually play

That’s a pretty light hitting lineup. I try not to add to the negativity, but don’t see them scoring more than 2 tonight. Burnes needs to be nearly perfect.

I have this strange feeling they‘ll turn it around this weekend and start playing much better. It’s either that, or gas.

Does this team have anything that resembles a heavy hitting lineup?

"You're not going to have him when you want him and you're going to run out of games. He can't pitch 90 games. It's just not going to work. If anyone thinks it's going to work, show me how."- Craig Counsell on Josh Hader.

Facing a righty with an all right handed infield, which means no Sogard. This could be a turning point where we just start playing the best players (or in the case of Urias, find out what we have) instead of worrying about platoon advantage above all else.

I see we replaced Smoak with a beer league softball player that looks like Jon Kruk's and Chris Farley's lovechild. And yet another ex-Mariner.

Another solid start for the offense with 4 strikeouts through two innings.

The offense is still terrible and I doubt Bob's Big Boy is going to fix it.

Pretty good chance this is going to be the worst hitting team average wise in baseball history.
