The Marlins have fallen back into this quagmire now

These teams fighting for the last few spots all suck.

And to think people are in favor of this sixteen team playoff format. Mediocrity should never be rewarded. I even cringed when the NFL added two more spots.

"You're not going to have him when you want him and you're going to run out of games. He can't pitch 90 games. It's just not going to work. If anyone thinks it's going to work, show me how."- Craig Counsell on Josh Hader.

The Cubs crapping the bed in the final week of the season is a little fun to watch. Dropped another one to the lowly Pirates tonight. If they lose again tomorrow, and get swept this weekend by a very hungry White Sox team with a lot to play for, the Reds, Cardinals or Brewers could still theoretically catch them record-wise. Not sure what the tie-breakers are, but that would be crazy.

It would be the third year in a row that the Cubs have played horribly going down the stretch and into the playoffs apparently getting rid of Maddon didn't fix this issue.

Reality is setting in a bit for me. We just aren't going to make it. And maybe it's for the best. Burnes and Williams were the best things to come out of this year, and that's going to be of big benefit for the future.
