Game One of the ALCS was 2-1 and went 3 hours and 50 minutes and featured 7 relief pitchers. 304 pitches thrown and 1 run scored while a ball was in play.

If you made it through that, congrats.

I had it on while I was doing other things. I was marginally paying attention to it, which made it bearable. But oof.

Brett Anderson made it way too interesting there.

In game one of the NLCS the Dodgers bullpen gives up four runs in the 9th inning of a game that was tied.

That's gonna get the "trade Hader to the Dodgers" people excited.

Until he got Jerry Springer to GIDP.

I totally just realized there are fans at the NLCS. Shows how much I've been paying attention.

I get it, but, of course, I also just don't. I'm not surprised, but the risk-reward calculus just seems so clear in my head.

As for the baseball, the AL has been much more exciting for me. Can't say I'm much into either of the NL clubs. Suppose I just hope the Rays win and cross another team off that "never won" list. Gotta be the Brewers eventually, right?

You're not supposed to have this kind of dominating pitching that the Braves have had during this postseason. And dominating may be an understatement.

Boy.

If the Dodgers fail to make the World Series much less win it, I imagine they will be desperate this offseason.

Kershaw will be in the last year of his deal next year and is now 32 years old.

Justin Turner is gone after this year.

Kenley Jansen is 33 and looking shakey.

The Braves ultimately got to Tony Gonsolin, but he looked good early.

It’s sort of fun that both Gonsolin and Corbin Burnes were starters together at St. Mary’s and both drafted in 2016 (Burnes in 4th round, Gonsolin in 9th).

That's cool, love stuff like that.

Reminds me of JD Martinez, Miles Mikolas & Mike Fiers all getting drafted out of Nova Southeastern back in 2009.

Those three have around 225 million in career earnings/future gurantees, Nova Southeastern only has a 170 million endowment.

I kind of am enjoying the fact that Jose altuve getting the yips is torpedoing the Astros chances of getting back to the world series.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

That's the only reason why I tuned in for a couple of innings last night. My first baseball since the Brewers elimination.

I find it odd the NLCS is being played in an AL stadium. I understand the reason, but still odd.

That is amazing. Definitely qualifies as a fun fact.

What’s the earliest a position player has entered in a game to pitch? It’s 11-0 Dodgers in the first, and the Braves are out of pitchers after yesterday.

I would watch a TB vs Atl series. Not sure I could stomach a LA vs Hou matchup.

They changed the rules as to when a position player can pitch. Otherwise Braves would be using one by about the 3rd inning at this rate.

Dodgers have scored 20 runs in the last 5 1/3 innings. And the Braves don’t have their competent pitchers available until game 6.
