I almost would prefer the Cards get the second WC at this point. Obviously anything can happen in a 1 game playoff, but if the Dodgers wind up in that WC game, would prefer a team give them a fight. If Flaherty can get healthy in time or even Wainwright may give the Cards a puncher's chance.

Yeah and then they'll ride that wave to another championship, beating the Brewers in the NLCS just like 2011.

Thompson is the largest 15 year old I've ever seen.

That 2011 Cardinals team seemed a lot better than their 2021 version. They’re on a nice winning streak right now, but just over a week ago they were basically a .500 team. I would be ecstatic if the only thing that stood between the Brewers and the World Series was this Cardinals team.

Interesting that the Cubs pulled Thompson after letting him bat. Maybe he's just a good bunter?

Umpires have been absolutely brutal all year

I actually used to be [mildly] opposed to the automated strike zone, but I’m more than ready now.

Right. I'd 100% rather face the Cardinals in the NLCS, should the Brewers advance that far, than the Dodgers or the Giants.

At least the umpire is terrible both ways.

One of the more annoying/frustrating games. Baserunners all game long but can’t get a damn hit

About time we took advantage. Thompson has no one to blame but himself for that if you're going to walk JBJ.

Imagine declining a $12.5m option on Kolten Wong.

If I'm a manager that might be the biggest sin in baseball right now.

So, where does Strickland land in the bullpen hierarchy in the playoffs? Seems Hader, Williams, and Boxberger are pretty clearly the main 3 guys late in games, but Strickland has been pretty darn good.

idk Box has been making me a little nervous lately. I wouldn't mind Strickland or Cousins in that 7th inning role.
