Of course probably just speculation, but considering that they lost 96 games with the HIGHEST payroll I suppose they assume a big splash must have to be made this offseason.

It would be nice if the Brewers could come up with some dynamic trade that would make this team instantly better and "shock" the north siders and the rest of the baseball world.

Time will tell.....

I hope they go after him. It will cost at least $20M to negotiate and then $14-17M over 5 years to sign. Let them spend all their money on him.

i do not want any major players on the cubs. they CAN overspend. they have a decent enough payroll to make it happen and work if it partially fails. i'd rather see the sox and yanks steal them if we can't get em.
