Source: #Brewers finalizing deal with Cuban OF/1B Ernesto Martinez Jr., 17, for $925K. The left-handed hitting & throwing EMJ also pitches.

He's 6'6". Some video:

This is also in the International Talent forum but not sure how many folks see that.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Found his youtube channel. A lot of him taking BP in quite grainy quality, but it looks like the swing needs more than a bit of work. I like taking chances on a physical specimen like this though. Quality power potential which is how it should be if you're 6'6 at 17.

Sometimes the best option is to not touch a players swing until they start having issues. His swing is fine the only thing I don't like about his approach is his leg kick combined with an open front. That is going to cause some timing issues and make him rather streaky that is probably the only thing I would change. If they could get him to close his stance to be more in line with what Hosmer and Bellinger do I think he would be fine from there. I still wouldn't change what he is doing until he starts to struggle. If something works for the player and they are not causing harm to themselves then it is better to just leave it alone.

Saw some other video of him and it looks like he uses more of a toe tap. Regardless, that kid is huge.
