Apparently, teams are scouting Gray - perhaps the Yankees are offering him around?

His splits are, solid on the road - awful in New York, so maybe, but New York needs pitching - I doubt the Brewers are a match.

I would love this move. The Yankees however can’t think they can deal Gray alone to upgrade their pitching in 2018 given how poorly he has pitched overall. Given how he has pitched, the absolute most I would give is a package centered around Luis Ortiz. Ortiz and Troy Stokes. Not much more than that.

Not this thread again! Thought we had finished with this last deadline. But in all seriousness, though I tend to think Gray was way overrated last season and that this year’s numbers prove it, he could be an interesting buy low candidate. I wouldn’t want to give up a ton for a guy who I view as a number three but some lottery tickets to the Yankees for Gray May be worth doing.

Why would we want Gray?

I’d be very interested if he came at a deep discount. Like South African reliever type of discount. A reunion with Derek Johnson could do him some good.

The more I think about this, the more I am really intrigued by this. It would be a very odd deal given the Yankees are trying to add SP, but what about a 3 way trade where the Brewers send prospects to someone in addition to the Yankees prospects. Brewers get Gray. Yankees add a different SP. Prospects to the third team. Gray with Derek Johnson may help him find what he is lacking this year.

I would love this move, but have no idea what we could offer the Yankees that they would be interested in. Thames and a pitching prospect?

Gross, no. A .900 OPS lefty bat in a struggling offense AND a pitching prospect for a 5+ ERA and 1.50 WHIP starter who has been disastrous 2 out of the last 3 seasons? I'd take on his salary, and nothing more really.

I'd rather have Davies back healthy than trade anything for Gray, and I'm not exactly over the moon about Davies - let the Yankees find another patsy to unload their unwanted arms on.

Some Sonny Gray news from Ryan Field via Twitter...

Sonny Gray will also undergo an X-Ray after taking a ball off the thumb.

Tough night for the #Yankees.

The reason for the use of “also” is that Aaron Judge fractured his right wrist in the game. It won’t require surgery apparently, but it will at least three weeks before he can resume swinging a bat.

No thanks, not giving up Brown for Gray.

Broxton would have to clear waivers.

I’d take a flyer on Gray but I don’t want to give up Zack Brown. I’d be willing to move two lower level prospects or lower ceiling guys like Ponce or Diplan.

I'd take him in a heartbeat if the price was right.
