It’d be interesting to see what Tyrone Taylor is worth to some teams. Sell high maybe?

That would kill our outfield.

No thanks at this time...

Figure out what the Cubs want for both Kimbrel and Bryant and get it done.

Who does Bryant replace at this point?

Tellez, Garcia, Cain, Urias. Prepare for everything. Someone fouling a ball off their knee cap and missing the playoffs. More bullets.

Say it was in a package for Bryant. That would pair up nicely for the Brewers. I’m not saying I want to rid ourselves of him but fearful this will be the highest he will ever be.

Me too, unfortunately. Career minor leaguer who had ok minors numbers suddenly "breaks out" as a 27-year-old in the majors? That has certainly happened in the past, but those who have done it have been more or less flashes in the pan, rather than long-term MLB contributors. Nellie Cruz is the obvious exception.

I really like Taylor. He brings a terrific amount of energy and no moment has proven too big for him. He has even had some "clutch" in him. But if there is another team out there who views him as a long-term standout MLB OFer, and values him as such, then you almost have to consider a deal.

He’s been our Braun I thought we needed a month ago or so. I’ve enjoyed it and hope he continues. Always great to home brew guys.

Galaxy brain: go after Taylor Rogers on a steep injury discount since we don't necessarily need him until the playoffs.

Rogers still makes a ton of sense. We can afford to wait out the injury, and we still control him for '22 as a pen option for next year. I don't know that the discount will be huge though. The Twins can just wait to deal him until the offseason when he's healthy if they don't get a good offer.

I'm growing a bit impatient with no activity on the relief market for the Brewers. Are we really going to enter the postseason with Boxberger as our 3rd best relief arm and potentially Hunter Strickland needing to get outs?

It looks likely although they could probably fit 1 more guy after Norris

I was hoping to get one more decent SP, k even if just for depth. Oh well, they got one bat and two RPs. I guess that’s what was thought to be the plan from the get-go.

I think my biggest takeaway is that I don't think the Reds and Cardinals got any closer to us than they were before, if not farther away.

So we should remain the heavy favorites for the NL Central title, which almost certainly comes with a top 2 playoff seed.

One of Daniel Hudson, Raisel Iglesias, or a LHRP not on anyone's radar.

Does Norris count as a "LHRP not on anyone's radar"?

Don’t have a subscription to the Athletic but it does sound like we tried to go after both Scherzer and some guys from the Cubs per Will Sammon. Hence the geographical location comment from Stearns.
