well, kicked out of yet another beer-tour tasting room.

not belligerent or anything, just a "you've had enough" thing. this time it was the one in Monroe. do the groupon and it's $5 and i got about six pints of beer plus a glass and four free beers for the road. the girl who first gave me a time limit went to do a tour, so the new bartenders didn't know i'd been there for a while already. you have the option of skipping the tour, as if i'd want to see for the millionth time how beer is made.

The tour at Minhas was kinda fun, but the beer was subpar at best. Their liquor was also horrible. I did a Groupon thing on a date and we caught a nice buzz. They won't let you drink on the tour, correct?

Two plus years later.... I'm Paddled. It's Monday. Life is good. Cubs lose. Brewers win.

Wow, from the archives! Wonder where GP is these days?

Nah, he cleaned up.

The archived threads are a great read though.

Had my annual review at work today. After doing a few repairs in the garage, I took my jacket off at around 4:50pm. First 16oz Tito's and water was finished by 5:11pm. Second one done by 5:35pm.

It's been more than a year. I'm 41 years old. I just felt the need, in the time of corona.... bourbon is delicious.

Jack Daniels Apple whiskey and 7up was a great mix tonight.

I've tried a couple of apple flavored whiskeys, haven't cared for them. I do, however, like Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey.

Over the last two nights I've put a good dent in a bottle of Rebel Yell bourbon whiskey. For taste/price (~$17/750ml), I think it's perhaps the best value out there.

I was riding my bike near Miller Park yesterday and saw a few folks tailgating in one of the empty lots.

Rebel Yell with a small splash of orange liqueur is amazing.

Now that I've moved into a minuscule kitchen I'm putting my cooking hobby on hold. But I realized that to scratch the itch I can learn how to make a good cocktail. Not whiskey cokes, but real cocktails. So far I've learned that an Old Fashioned actually isn't normally made with brandy.

Just ordered a bunch of bitters. Next challenge is finding a good booze store because down here they're controlled by the government and most all of them stink.

Neat, rocks, or with a mixer?

Rocks, specifically a single, large ice cube.

The orange liqueur I had was Royale Orange.

A silicone tray to make giant square ice cubes was one of my single greatest purchases ever. I have a sphere cube one too, but the square ones are bigger and last longer.
