Do you do the whole "make clear ice" thing with it, too?

Since I have no one to impress I would rather not shrink my cubes and make them smaller. Since usually you would be stuck with a cloudy side to chip off a little bit.

I have a friend who does it for any sports party we do. He does the method that involves putting water in a small cooler to put in his freezer. Then when his little thin block of ice is ready he takes it out a chops it into cubes. It’s pretty cool, but probably because I’m not the one putting in all that work for an ice cube.

When ice comes out of my ice maker it's clear. If you take it out of the tray/ice maker/etc. soon after it is frozen it will be clear. It's when it starts to evaporate that it turns cloudy.

Put the tray in the freezer about 4 hours before you will be using it. Freezers are set at about zero degrees Fahrenheit; at that temperature, it takes about 3-4 hours for water to freeze in a tray. If looking for bigger cubes, go for four hours.

If there is a way to seal the tray, or put cling-wrap on it, allowing space for the water to expand as it freezes, that will delay how long it takes before the cubes start to turn cloudy.

Curious if anyone has seen Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve in a store around MKE?
