Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Sounds rather ominous. I have to admit when they added the sequels I was hoping a new Jedi Order would have been part of it like in the expanded universe books. Anyway, guesses as to what direction this new title leads us?

Thoughts (no basis for these, and random musings):

Luke dies
Rey is the one who kills him because she has to decide between Luke and her family
Kylo Ren is almost killed by Snoke because he isn't strong enough

The movie ends with Rey either being captured or convinced to join Snoke. She could also be a force user who is able to harness both the light and dark sides. Kylo is left half dead with her mom, Leia, to recover.

It is revealed that Snoke is a cross between Mace Windu and Jar Jar Binks.

Considering how similar the episode 7 plot was to the episode 1 plot it will be interesting to see how much they veer from the plots of ESB and ROTJ in the next two movies. My guess is there will be one major shift, either the good guy going bad or the bad guy going good (since it's Disney my guess is maybe Kylo turns good to help kill Snoke). I see Luke dying the same way Yoda did (peacefully as Rey finishes her training) and Rey running a new Jedi order.

On a side note, Mace was one of my favorite characters in the entire Star Wars universe. I think a spinoff about his rise to the Jedi Council would be a good idea.

But what if Mace Windu is Snoke?

And Finn is Mace's son?

My teenage son loves the Star Wars universe and is always telling about these crazy fan theories.

If they don't start creating a different story line and just re-create 4-5-6, I'll be done. It was fine to do with #7 because it needed a reboot to the Star Wars franchise but there is no reason to continue down that road. Be creative. Stop trying to make a buck off of the crazy Star Wars fans who will show up no matter what.

The Last Jedi. Well hasn't that been the case since the first movie, Episode 4?
How will they do Princess Leia without Fisher?
While an interesting take on Kylo becoming a good guy, I don't see that happening. What would make him do that considering who his parents were? And seeing as he Killed his Father.
I'm expecting to be very disappointed once again.(man Rogue One was awful)
Luke in his older age will do amazing acrobatics like Yoda did pre episode 4 in whatever battle he gets in...He'll need all these acrobatics to face Kylo, when Rey didn't.
Rey to me is somehow going to have dots put together that she's Obi-Wan's granddaughter. Thus why the lightsaber called to her and why she has her abilities. So it'll come full circle, Obi trains Darth Vader and Luke somewhat. Luke trains Obi's granddaughter.
Finn's character bothers me. Because when has a stormtrooper just suddenly not be a stormtrooper anymore? Now we'll be forced to sit through some storyline to figure this out and connect the dots.

I can't wait to the scene that comes where you see the real Snoke and he's the size of Yoda.

All of her scenes were already shot for this movie before she passed away.

Maybe he will look like this?

I am still hoping that Snoke is Darth Malgus from Star Wars the Old Republic.

.

The Stormtroopers aren't clones anymore (they actually covered this in Force Awakens). They're recruits and whatnot, and they go through conditioning and training, but they still have some modicum of free will.

I would imagine Finn is not the only deserter in the entire galaxy, he's just the one that happened to have a story that fit into the movie timeline.

Unfortunate that you were disappointed however I liked both, Force Awakens more than Rogue One and the vast majority of critics and fans agree. Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren are great characters and they don't have to rely on just the old characters. No chance that Luke will pull a Yoda from Attack of the Clones.

If Luke ends up in a lightsaber battle, it will look much more like Obi-Wan in Episode IV. Well, hopefully not that bad.

Just disappointed in the abilities so quickly with Rey and Finn immediately. Or the inability by Kylo Ren who was trained.

The fight scene was absolutely brutal.

I can't see Kyle Ren going good. If he joined the good side, he would be put on trial for crimes against the Galaxy.

When the light saber flew through the air when Rey and Kylo were fighting for it, I desperately wanted it to fly into Luke's hand.

I just read an interesting theory by a Pixar employee that Reys parents were in the Knights of Ren. Luke gave the lightsaber to her parents to be the heir knowing Kylo would turn. This angered Kylo and killed them. Similar to the end of Ep. 3, Luke hides Rey on a desert planet, away from the evil force users.

I get the twist will probably be something simple, but if Rey isn't related to a Jedi, Sith, or Force user, I don't buy that her power over the lightsaber is greater than Kylo's

In the last Star Wars rebels episode it shows Ohio-Wan killing Darth Maul.....again. As he's preparing to fight Maul he gets in his typical fighting stance with the lightsaber pointing forward and two fingers extended. But then right before Maul attacks he switches stances and holds the lightsaber as one would hold a baseball bat when preparing to hit. This is the exact same position Rey held the lightsaber when she was preparing to fight Kylo Ren.

I'd bet money Rey is a Kenobi. Too many hints pointing in that direction in my opinion for her not to be.

The main Star Wars movies are about the Skywalkers.

Fan is short for fanatic.
I blame Wang.

It bugs me that a show aimed for kids is considered canon. I've watched clone wars but that wasn't as kid based as Rebels. Anybody that has seen it, is it worth it?

My son is 17 and likes Rebels (although he has only seen the first two seasons).

He said it's definitely worth watching if you are a Star Wars fan. It's not as intense as Clone Wars, which gets pretty dark in the later seasons. He said it's more of a sit back and just enjoy show. As you noted, a little more kid friendly - but still very fun.
