I gave up smoking a week ago and its been intensely difficult. You realize right away within the first few days how much of your life revolved around that next cigarette.

I keep pictures of my kids around when things get especially difficult to look at and remind myself of why I am doing this.

Good for you man. I've never smoked, so I can't imagine what you're going through, but I do have an addictive personality and understand addiction itself. When my mom quit she used to keep suckers and stuff around at all times. Helped keep her mind off of having that next smoke. Good luck!

Our second shift Technician got canned this past Wednesday. So guess who is covering until a replacement is found (in this market)? Just when the team was starting to play well.

The fact that the Potowatami "Let's Go Back" casino commercial is frequently on again during Brewers coverage bugs me. I thought that it was pretty played out last year, and hadn't seen it again until last night's game, but there it was again, on several times again in all its "glory".

UGGHHH! Hate it.

I'll piggy back your thread with that damn Feldco 2 windows for the price of one commercial that made me gag last year. The one where the wife is pregnant, and is on the phone getting news, from what the husband thinks is her doctor...

Cringeworthy.

Also am tired of all things having to do with the pizza ranch.

I can't help but cringe a little bit when Mom turns to the son and gets that super-excited "WOW" look on her face from eating what I assume to be mediocre pizza.

LOL. I take the family out to pizza ranch every couple of months, usually on a Tuesday so I don't have to pay for the kids. It's fine. Its buffet pizza.

Even though no one is behind me to be seen, guy pulls out in front of me on to the highway forcing me to slow down. He then proceeds to drive under the speed limit.

My driving peeve lately has been, just driving on a normal city street, 2 lanes with parked cars on either side, if there is a car approaching in the opposite direction they will happily cross over the center line into my oncoming lane so that they can give that parked car a good 5 to 10 feet of clearance. Meanwhile they're coming about 3 feet away from my car, which isn't parked and is moving towards them at or above the speed limit. What logic makes these drivers feel like the parked car is a bigger danger than the one moving right at them? Yet it happens over and over and over every single day!

Absolutely. A few of the streets in my neighborhood are narrow and have cars parked on both sides most of the time. It is very much the minority of drivers that don't swerve in front of me to miss a parked car when simply driving slower would work better.

Back issues. Pulled a muscle and wasn't able to get off the floor for 2 days. This happens to me about twice a year. Thankfully only a muscle/tissue issue and not disk related but back injuries are just so debilitating that you are basically useless. Crawling to the bathroom was an adventure.

I hate dachshunds. They are the absolute worst breed of dog. As a general rule I hate yippy little lap dogs, but dachshunds are on another level. They bite and they act more like cats in that they don't listen at all.

My in-laws for some reason decided to get one a few years ago and we get the 'pleasure' of caring for him every so often. He'll sleep on the bed, burrow himself under the covers and just generally be a nuisance, and like clockwork start whining to go out about 4 in the morning. Sometimes he'll even jump off the bed in the middle of the night and then start whining until someone lifts him back ON the bed.

Any meal or snack requires you to watch your food like an absolute hawk as this pest will seek out any opportunity to take a snag at your food.

Oh, and people who post about sports (especially actual sportswriters) and say 'compliment' when they mean 'complement'.

"He compliments him well." No, he freaking doesn't, and if he does, I don't care about who he compliments.

Picked up a copy of the Brewers free playbill at today’s game. I looked at the roster and I’m thinking this must be from the April 2017 series against St. Louis. I counted 17 names on the roster that are no longer with the Brewers. I’m sorry, but this is pathetic. How does this issue miss everybody and get out for publishing? Good Lord.

Punters are the worst dogs. Anything the size of a football shouldn't be a dog.

Fan is short for fanatic.

Disagree.

We rescued a yorkie beagle mix and it is the sweetest dog I've ever been around. Its vocal, but it is simply the most loving dog.

Don't judge a book...I think that's a phrase.

The Gameday programs are so regularly error-ridden that we've taken to searching for them. It doesn't usually take long. I'll pay extra attention to the roster page in tonight's issue.

Edited to pile on: Last year, when the Angels visited, they listed "Ron Rennicke" among the LAA coaches. I still wonder if that was intentional. I realize we get what we pay for, but have some semblance of pride.

I've semi-seriously tweeted at the Brewers offering to copy edit for free. They've never responded.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

The overwhelming problem with small dogs is that certain people who get them should've gotten a cat. They don't get enough exercise, they aren't trained, they are treated mostly like a toy to show off to other people from time to time.

Yes, this is bugging me too.

I agree, the problem with the small dog is the owners usually, not the dog. Because they are always on the owner's lap, they get a false sense that they are equal to humans, or even dominant. I'm all for dogs cuddling and even sleeping with people (I used to do that) but I think you have establish that it's not their choice when they come up, they have to be called up. We have a puppy right now and we have not let him on the furniture yet. We will someday, but not until he knows he can't just go up there whenever he wants. Plus he's going to be huge....so not sure how much we will actually end up letting him up there.

The car died from what looked to be a preventable issue. Rather than renting a car to drive home and then buy a new one, I just got one nearby. The paperwork took less time than to pick one out. Having spent $1400 to fix up some body damage just last week on the junk car kinda stings, though.
