Anyone know the message board site that gets the most traffic from Colorado Rockies fans?

The fan site listed on Brewerfan is old and looks to have gone pretty dormant, as have all the others I've found Google searching.

Some friends and I are going to Colorado for the Brewers series in a couple weeks and just looking to pick the locals' brains about pre-game activities, Denver activities, etc. We'd take any suggestions from anyone here in the know as well!

This place is a must. I also recommend trying the Rocky Mountain Oysters at the game. Only a few stands sold them so you might have to ask around but they are worth it. Have a beer or two before if you need some courage.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

I lived near Denver for several years (just moved back to Wisconsin in May). I didn't go to a ton of games, but I can throw out the following suggestions:

1. Go to Union Station. It's a few blocks from the stadium and beautiful. Even if you just want to look around, it's great. Depending on where you are staying, you can always take the train to the game. Works great.

Union Station has a variety of bars and shops - you can even get a brat there. It can be pricey, but it's pretty cool to see. They just renovated in a couple of years ago.

2. As noted by Raw Biz, you can go to Swankys. It's a Wisconsin bar, just a block from the stadium. They even have a Badger flag flying in front of it. Food is decent and it's not too expensive - and you'd be among friends.

3. If you like craft beers you can walk to a half-dozen (or more) breweries within a mile or so from the stadium. Wynkoop, Great Divide, Tivoli, Breckenride, Epic and a handful of other places are all in the area. It's very easy to just wander from place to place and try beer.

Otherwise, depending on where you are staying, there are tons of breweries - large and small - in Denver.

4. Lots of shops and bars and restaurants over in the Market and Larimer Streets area (about 1/2 mile from the stadium). If you just want to wander around and do a little shopping it's pretty cool.

5. I'd recommend the Stranahan's whiskey distillery tour. It's not near the park - but it's downtown, and very fun (assuming you're interested in that kind of thing).

6. Don't be afraid to eat at Denver food trucks. They are pretty amazing.

7. If you've never seen a concert at Red Rocks, it's amazing. Best place ever for a concert.

Otherwise, if you're just looking for Denver area activities, it's really a great place for stuff to do. I'd suggest checking out http://www.westword.com - it's sort of the local paper for cultural events. There are tons of concerts in Denver (most outdoors), lots of festival type stuff, beer festivals, etc.

Has anyone been to Swanky's before a Brewers/Rockies game? I'd imagine any Brewers fans going to the game would likely congregate there?

I went to Colorado in 2012 for the Brewers Rockies series and stopped in at Swanky's and while we were there early, closer to gametime the place was FULL of Brewers fans.

I would drive up Mount Evans. It's about an hour and a half to the peak from Coors if I recall and is really neat. It was like 80ish degrees at Coors Field when we left and in the low 30's at the top. It's the highest paved road in North America at over 14,000 feet.

Yes, we went in 2009 and it was full of fans. One of our group also went back there after the game without us and saw Sveum slinging some drinks.

I was just there for the series at the end of last season. Swanky's is definitely a cool bar, you'll find a TON of Brewers fans there. There are also a ton of bars in the stadium and a bunch of breweries in the downtown area as well.
