Please use this thread to share your thoughts, links, stories, pictures and anything else on the Brewers' picks from rounds 1 through 5. Please do not start separate threads to discuss the individual picks.

Please use the in-draft thread to talk about the picks, similar to a game thread.

I've seen a lot of mocks predicting Larnach to the Brewers. I can't say that I'm too excited about that, though.

Yah, not a huge fan of Larnach at 21. He needs to hit to have any value at the big league level, and there are some questions about his pitch recognition. Also doesn't really fit into the Brewers' MO of up the middle athletes.

I feel like the Brewers front office is among the most guarded in baseball. Have mock drafts gotten the Brewers right in recent years, without looking I don't think they have.

Justin Verlander second overall and Casey Mize first overall. That’s almost an unfair transition. Mize’s Stats are unreal.

Two top five picks at catcher going from Buster Posey to Joey Bart. That’s an organization that knows what it is doing in the draft.

Interesting stat by Peter Gammons. In the last All Star game, 75% were first rounders or international players. Two areas that hopefully the Brewers are turning around.

From what I remember mocks have generally been wrong about who the Brewers pick.

Alec Bohm can’t even figure out how to button up a major league jersey, nice pick Phillies! [smile]

Mize at 1, Bart at 2, Bohm at 3. Draft going as expected with multiple four letter last names off of the board.

Lol that was awkward. I could see that happening to me.

I like where the Phillies are heading. And they’ve got cash to deploy as needed.

I see second base or left for Madrigal. I’d have to wonder about range at 5’7 at short. That doesn’t compute.

Related to that, I really like Cadyn Grenier, who punted Madrigal from SS to 2B for Oregon State. Not at 21 probably, but hope he's still there at 60.

The first former Brewers draft pick off the board at #5 (Jonathan India)!

And now most of the mock drafts have veered off track.

Thanks for all your research! I usually can’t read up on more than about 25-30 players.

Did you not publish on your website this year? I enjoyed it last year.

I agree with your point - I’d like to see more shortstops in the organization. I suspect Carmona ends up at third.

Will be interesting to see if Singer falls to the A’s at #9. It would be the second time in three years they sat back and had a highly touted Florida pitcher fall to them.
