Is there a place on the web where you can sort team stats in a given season? For example, if I want to see which team had the highest OBP in 1978. Is it on baseball-reference? Because I can't seem to find that info if it is.

Thanks in advance.

I like to use this program. As far as a website, maybe MLB.com?

You can use Lahman's database and excel to do anything you want:

Team stats take a litte work, however.

Otherwise, you can use MLB.com's historical stats to see that the Brewers were tied for the highest OBP in 1978:

And they were first in runs. Go figure!

That's exactly what I wanted. Thanks.

Well they were also first in slugging. They had a pretty good team that year. Image

OK, follow up question....

Where can I see defensive game logs by player and by season? So if I want to see which games Ryan Braun committed errors in 2007 where do I go? (I know I can look at each box score on Baseball Reference but I'm looking for something a little less tedious)

Thanks

Try this.

Basically you go to Retrosheet. Select Players. Once you find the player, it will have fielding logs.

Also, if have Excel, you can grab the data from Retrosheet and then use the filter setting .
