Nationals @ Cardinals 6:45PM
Reds @ Cubs 7:05PM
Mets @ Rockies 7:40PM

I'll take the D-Backs off the list for now.

The Nats/Cards series is huge.

Obviously go Reds and go Rockies. I'm not real sure who to pull for in the Nationals/Cardinals series. Whatever happens there it helps the Brewers. I am still pulling for the division title, though, so I suppose a Nationals sweep helps that happen. Plus I want the Cardinals to have something to play for through the end of the year with all those Cubs games remaining.

I hope someone gets swept in the Cards/Nationals series...preferably the Cardinals. Why cheer for a team to lose to better your chances at the #1 WC (or WC in general)? I would rather shoot for the division. We virtually are behind both teams the same amount.\

I'll choose not to cheer for the Nats or Cards. Just see what happens and take it from there. If I HAD to choose, I'd go with cheering for the Nats. The Nationals have a pretty tough schedule the rest of the way and in theory are gonna get some losses.

As long as somebody loses - which is likely to happen - the Brewers gain ground on somebody with a win. Also, they are guaranteed not to lose ground on somebody with a loss.

Yesterday's win at STL was just immensely huge for their division chances as long as they play winning baseball the rest of the way. Bottom line, Brewers don't put up a stinker series against the Padres to start this week and they are sitting really pretty headed into this weekend once cubs-cards starts.

I tend to agree, aim for the division with our cheering, we are rooting for the Nationals. If we take care of business on our end, we could head into the weekend with only 1 or 2 games separating all 3 teams. I'm expecting a pretty wild finish.

Obviously it hasn't gone according to plan, but this is pretty much what everyone predicted coming into the year – a dogfight between the Brewers, Cubs and Cards for the division. There was some scuttle about the Pirates and Reds being involved, but they were always considered 2nd tier. It's funny how, despite so many posters here, national media and, really, some common sense telling us all year that this Brewers team wasn't any good, here we are.

One small sidenote, it is weirdly important that the Indians stay relevant. The Indians play the Phillies and the Nationals over their last 4 series. Currently the Indians are 4.5 back of the division and 1.5 back of the wildcard. They also play the Nationals last, so bottom line is we are rooting for the Indians the whole way. We want them to stay relevant to the final game.

I think we also have to root for the Phillies to stay relevant till next week. They have 5 games left v the Nats, but if the Braves take it to them this week, those games v the Nats next week might not matter much for them.

Rizzo out for at least a week for the Cubs.

Will be in a boot for 5-7 days and will be reevaluated after.

Even in a best case scenario, there's no way he can take the boot off in 5 days and play full games of baseball immediately after, is there? Unless he's the biggest baby in the world(which I don't think he is)...he definitely has worse than the mild sprains/rolls that you can shake off in a few days and be fine. After what I saw, if he's a really tough dude, maybe he gets a couple PH appearances over the last 3-5 games of the season.

I sprained my ankle pretty badly a few years back playing basketball. My reaction was about the same as his reaction, so I'm kinda assuming his was either as bad as mine or worse. It took about a week until I could walk normally without crutches. I sat out from basketball for 3 weeks and played very carefully with a brace after that. I was able to cut and do everything I needed to, but I also was careful to not barrel into traffic or jump for contested rebounds(which is how I rolled it). Obviously he's going to get better treatment than my "just ice it and stay off it"...but tough to imagine him playing full games in less than 2 weeks. It really wouldn't shock me though if they took the boot off and he was able to PH very shortly after...and have someone run for him. It is September after all.

Nats-Cards = Go 15+ innings for each game. (Failing that some 21-19 games would be good).

Given that if we end up in the WC game, I wouldn't mind playing away. That being said, unless the Nats losing helps us make the WC game, I think I'm rooting for the Nats.

I also concur about ultimately rooting for long bullpen depleting games.

Cbbs picking up right where they left off in the Pirates series - up 3 after 1 innings.

So annoying watching the Cubs get huge leads in the first inning. Ugh.

Michael Lorenzen just hit with the bases loadrd and two outs. 5 pitches. All balls. He swung at 3.

Hamels just looks flat out done as a starter - he's either pitching hurt and will rejoin the IL or he is throwing batting practice and scared to throw it over the plate. So nice to see. How the Reds haven't gotten more than 1 thus far is crazy. 5 walks in 3+IP and he's out of the game...time to gas the hell out of that cubs' bullpen!
